This ice maker was installed worked good for three days then started leaking water

This ice maker is horrible! The ice does not fall in individual cubes, it falls in full ice sheets. Every time you want ice, you have to use an ice pick to break the sheets up. The sheets are thin so when you add your liquid, they melt super fast. The machine itself is extremely loud, imagine your dishwasher running all day. It constantly makes ice, which is good, I guess, because you always have ice but like I said, it's loud. I've only had it for 4 months now, and it's the worst purchase I have made for our new home. We will eventually toss this and just spend the money on the name brand.

REVIEW IS FOR THE SMALL, DRAIN FREE, 12LB ICE CAPACITY - NOT THE 65LB UNIT. ICE MAKER WORKS FINE AFTER 15 MONTHS OF USE. HAD TO DEFROST UNIT ONCE AFTER 9 MONTHS BECAUSE OF FROST BUILD UP BLOCKING THE CUBE MAKING MECHANISM. DEFROSTING TOOK LESS THAN 2 HOURS AND DID NOT CREATE A MESS OUTSIDE THE UNIT. AFTER DEFROSTING I FOUND THAT JUST PULLING THE ICE BUCKET OUT AND BACK IN EVERY COUPLE DAYS KEEPS THE FROST BUILD UP FROM INTERFERING WITH THE ICE MAKING MECHANISM AND BUCKET MOVEMENT. FAMILY MEMBERS AND GUESTS NEED TO COMPLETELY CLOSE THE DOOR MANUALLY SINCE THE UNIT IS INSTALLED IN A LEVEL POSITION FOR THE ICE MAKER'S WATER LEVEL. THE CUBE SCOOP IS VERY STURDY. ONCE A DAY THE SCOOP SHOULD BE USED FOR A FEW SECONDS LIKE A SHOVEL IN THE BUCKET TO ENSURE THE CUBES DO NOT STICK TOGETHER. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS UNIT.

Check your unit over when it arrives. Mine was boxed up all but still had significant damage to one corner. I assume it was damaged at the factory and then boxed up that way. My unit is still fully functional though and is installed in a cabinet so I didn't try and deal with the difficult return/replacement process.Installation was very easy. I installed an in-line filter and the ice is very clear and great tasting. The sump pump works very well and does make some noise but it doesn't run very long when it cycles. The ice making is also a bit noisy but not obnoxious. It fills up well within a day once I fire it up. Overall I'm quite pleased with the performance of this machine.

Excellent ice maker!! Makes great ice and very quickly.

The package arrived without visible damage, when I opened the box I found that the side of the ice maker was damaged.

We chose this icemaker specifically because of the size to replace another one that we had built in. It is a fast icemaker but it can be noisy and when the ice comes out it comes in big Squares of little ice cubes. I have to keep a metal meat tenderizer in the freezer as I am always breaking up the blocks of ice!! I tried to take a picture but it came out too dark.

Our GE ice maker bit the dust so we needed a replacement unit. We decided to give this unit a try after reading the reviews. It was ready to go right out of the box. It came with a new supply hose and a drainage hose. We swapped the door hinges and the instructions were readily available to walk ya through it. This unit can be hooked up and running with crescent wrench and screw driver only if you need to swap the door open. It was producing ice within an hour. Initially it was loud when the cubes hit the empty bin but soon quietened down. Within a matter of 12 hours or less it was completely full of ice. As long as the unit holds up it’s a 5 star for us.
