Maisy Goes on Vacation: A Maisy First Experiences Book

My one year old daughter and I love reading the Maisy books.

This book is a great book to prepare your little ones for a vacation as well as a fun summer book.

I got this for my daughter 20 months old so she could have a reference for going away somewhere, traveling to get there, stay in a hotel and going to the beach.It worked great! We were just on a beach trip and as a toddler, it was the first time we were away from home when she was cognizant of not being at HOME.When we got to our hotel late at night, she stopped when she realized we were not in our apartment building, said "Home." and refused to keep walking. I said, we are in our hotel, it has beds, a potty and lots of nice food. Just like Maisy and Cyril when they go to a hotel. She got it and for the rest of the trip, whenever we were returning to our room or going to sleep at night, she would say "Hotelo Room" as she understood we were not home, but we were in a new place for a while.

Perfect for my 4 year old daughter . easy to understand.

I used this to prepared my near 2 year old daughter for our lake vacation. It made her more comfortable in the hotel. It also showed beach play which was perfect for our vacation. Another book that features a hotel in detail which I highly recommend is "Playtown".

We love Maisy, pretty much anything she's ever done in books or her DVD's, so it might be biased and might not be the best Maisy story ever, but I like it because it explains a unique situation like "vacations" in a way young kids can relate to more if you have a trip coming up. And if you are a Maisy fan, you'll read it even after the vacation is over : )

This Maisy story gets 5 stars, but the actual book only gets 4. The printer did a poor job cutting the pages during manufacturing. I had to use scissors to carefully separate many of the pages.

As usual, fun, bright illustrations and easy but engaging language make Maisy books a favorite for my 2-year old.

Mein Baby ist ein großer Fan von Büchern über Maisy und ich inzwischen auch. Es ist sehr farbenfroh und man kann tolle Geschichten dazu erzählen. Es ist kein Pappbilderbuch, die Seiten sind aber ziemlich robust.

Wish I knew this was a book about a vacation travelling via train. Was hoping it was a book on airplanes
