I am a size 16/18 on top which is a XL/1X depending on cut. I wanted something long and loose in fit to work out in. This is very long, which I like, but is more fitted in the torso. I am a rectangle shape, D-Cup and 6 feet tall. I would say that this top is more of a women's cut and so is intended to be more fitted. I am a size 12 in everything, and an XL was fitted through turso. Hugs the lower neckline and shoulders (in a good way, not restrictive). Chest is not tight, and sleeves actually cover nicely -- extra points! Overall, an XL for a size 12 is fitted, the shirt is well worth the $$ and it is a flattering cut. Not too long. It is medium weight and silky, not see-through. Breathes well during exercise. Washes perfect. I am ordering more. My sense is that a larger size would not fit better, I'll be sticking with an XL. UPDATE: ordered in more colors, and the company is a DREAM to work with.... answers email questions immediately.
