In july it started to beep sometimes without smoke. Last week it started to beep at 330 am but it somehow went off after a couple of frantic button presses ( had to get a step ladder to get to it, half asleep) . This evening when we got home it was screeching continuously - and nothing would turn it off , until we ripped the sticker and turned the screw ( which makes it un usable after that). We didnt trust that would shut it off permanently so we threw it in the garbage far away from our home to make sure it didnt start up again in the middle of the night like those severed rattler heads that still bite ...Lasted in total all of around 4 months out of supposedly 10 year life .
