Mercedes w163 ML500 Fuel Pump...
Part looks very good.Unfortunately can't really know til installed.My fuel filter was original on our 2002 ML500 - lasted until plugged up in late 2022.I have installed new Mahle (German) KL-438 fuel filter.Truck runs WAY better now but won't hold pressure at Key Off, as it's supposed to.Ergo each crank, especially cold, uses the starter for 3-7 seconds.Not sure if my check valve in the old pump - (probably original, 21 years old) has gone bad or not.I'm told there's a valve also in the filter that prevents the Fuel return from dripping back to tank, dropping pressure by default.I'm gonna drive a few more days on the "new filter + old pump" to see if things improve.On an old reliable rig like this I ONLY change a part if verified BAD.Otherwise I'd have to change the whole vehicle lol !

Black cap does not fit, keep the original one!!!
The black nut does not fit.it is a tiny bit smaller, so previous affirmations were correct. I did fit the original one so all.was good. If ypu change the pump make sure not to brake the stop for the fuel level dial and change the fuel filter too. (There are 2 versions of it)

Black pump cap/nut dosent fit
So after spending about 1.5 hours pulling the truck apart to access the pump. I remove the old one which had been damaged and replaced it with this one. The threadings on then black cap/nut are wrong. Not sure if I was just sent the wrong cap or not but a 3 hour job is now a 3 day 3 hour job because I had to order a new cap/nut from the dealer for 47 bucks.. so this was a total loss at this point for me cause the truck is down while the cap/nut comes from the dealer. What a waste of time.. I'm truly dissapointed.. and wasted money and time with this product that offers a cap/nut that dosent fit.

It was easy to install with no complications, all was well for 3 months now I need another one.. what a bummer...
