The question of them being made in China was a concern for me at first, but then again, you have to remember that it’s the manufacturer (which is based in the United States) that set the standards of any product, and the case is no different here. It’s of the same quality and craftsmanship that one would come to expect from a quality brand such as Old Timer. I’m extremely pleased with my purchase, it’s top notch quality, and very well made with a blade that sharpens easily, but retains the edge since it’s made of high carbon stainless steel. In fact, this Old Timer knife replaces a Case knife that I threw in the garbage bin due to its quality and craftsmanship which was dismal at best as the blade wouldn’t stay locked in place. I’m extremely happy with the Old Timer, and I think that you will be as well.

I love Old Timer knives. They are tradtional, good looking, and easy on the wallet. I had one of these 35 years ago and it served me well for many years - till I lost it :( I decided it was time to replace it and I was pleased that the quality was still the same as I remembered. The blade is sharp and resists tarnishing and rust. I sometimes cut Roma tomatoes with it for my dinner sandwich (work) and the acids in the tomato don't tarnish the blade. I keep a honing strop to maintain the edge and it keeps it razor sharp without wearing down the blade. You can't go wrong with this knife. Just don't loose it!

The knife looks great and is sharp. Very nice size. Should last a long long time if not abused. Not a pry tool. The brass locking mechanism is not automatic and I have to physically push the lock into place as well as to unlock it to close. The closing part I get but I was under the impression that it would lock in place on its own when opened like other knives do with the same type of lock. Not that big of a deal but enough to knock off one star. Also note that it will be stiff to open until you break it in. That break in period will depend on how much you use it. Absolutely recommend this as a EDC pocket knife as it is easy to carry and use once you work it a bit. Great little utility knife for cutting through multiple items but NOT METAL ANYTHING. You will definitely dull the blade and probably damage it as well. SgtWall USMC

Very sharp out of the box. An easy pocket carry with the safety of a liner lock. The lineup of the lock isn't perfect, but close enough to not be concerned with safety. Meant to be a user. Would be a good knife for a first user.

Great weight and size. No assisted flip or pocket clip or other unnecessary functions. Opening and closing this knife can be difficult but once locked open; feels sturdy enough in hand. Blade is sharp right out of the box but the steel is brittle; don’t use this as a pry bar. Blade is inscribed “Old Timer” not “Schrade” and the inlaid handle logo was not rounded/oval.

El seguro va duro al principio, necesita que se desgaste la pletina de latón donde toca con la espiga para que funcione correctamente El acero empleado creo que es un 7CR17MOv, un acero chino de gama baja, viene bien afilada pero se desgastará rápido, la empuñadura es de plástico blando y las virolas son de alpaca. Ciertamente es bonita pero no es para según que trabajos, nada que ver con las originales que se fabricaban en USA desde los 50 del siglo pasado

Gute Fertigung. Liner funktioniert sehr gut. Messer kommt scharf Out of the Box. Polierte Backen auf Messing Platinen. Kanten könnten innen etwas entgratet sein.

Dieses kleine Taschenmesser heißt Old-Timer und wurde als Geschenk für einen Freund zum 70.Geburtstag bestellt. Es sieht gut aus, ist superscharf und für kleinere Schneidarbeiten gut geeignet. Das Geschenk ist sehr gut angekommen!
