Fantastic Little Duster
This is a fantastic little air duster. I've been on the fence about getting one of these for the last few years and finally decided to get one as my last can of air ran out. I wish I would have gotten one sooner. The device is a bit smaller than I expected, but don't let that fool you: this thing has more than enough power, even without any of the attachments, to clear dust out of darn near everything. I typically just use the attachment shown in use in all the listing images, but it comes with about a half dozen other various attachments that you could use if you desired. The one shown in all the pictures concentrates and directs the air very well for dusting PCs and keyboards. The unit is a bit noisy while in operation, but trust me, you don't want to be doing this indoors anyway. After a solid 5 - 10 minutes of use, the unit does get warm to the touch, but I'm being a bit anal about how dust-free my computer is before I call it all clean. The instructions mention that after prolonged use the unit may get warm to the touch and say that this is completely normal and to simply allow the device to cool before using again. As I said before, I wish I had bought this unit sooner. There are a few things that really make this thing worth the money. First, this unit was made in the USA. Second, do you know that feeling you have with a can of air where you think "Well, this component could be a bit cleaner, but this can is almost empty and I still have the rest of the computer to dust"? It's such a liberating feeling to not have to worry about that and to dust to your heart's content. Third is that I'll never have to pay $10 bucks for a two pack of canned air (really, canned chemicals that come out under high pressure) again, nor will their waste be consuming space in a landfill. If you have the money, pick this gem up. You won't be disappointed.

It really does blow leaves!!!
I am tired of buying canned air and of freezing my hands to clean a computer -and I still am; I am never buying canned air again!! This thing is amazing!!! I can't even begin to tell you how powerful it is and how great it cleans. I can even clean in between the blades of the huge heat sinks the XEONs that my workstation needs and when I am done, everything looks brand new again!! I read a review here wherein the reviewer read another review claiming that it could blow leaves off a deck and he did not believe the review until he tried it. I did not believe either review -then I tried it and WOW! The leaves did not stand a chance!! The blower is exceptionally well built and I expect that we will be together for many happy years. Solid steel, powerful, made in the USA -by a family business no less!, and for only a little bit more than a few cans of air, what's not to like!! I can't recommend this product highly enough! I love it! To the people that make it: DO NOT CHANGE A THING!! IT IS PERFECT THE WAY IT IS!!! how often can one say that about anything these days! Ok, it has been a long time since I first wrote the preceding paragraphs and I have used this AMAZING tool since 2013 and I can safely say that there simply is no better product out there (that is, the men and women who designed and the one's who manufacture it make THE BEST PRODUCT ON THE MARKET! and that is high praise indeed from someone who has been fortunate enough to own several products from several manufacturers and retailers that ARE DEFINED by their EXCEPTIONAL RELIABILITY and the EXCEPTIONAL QUALITY OF THEIR WORKMANSHIP) and if you buy ANYTHING OTHER than THIS duster, I DO NOT CARE HOW CHEAPLY, EVEN IF IT WAS GIVEN TO YOU FOR FREE, YOU HAVE MADE A TERRIBLE BLUNDER! Send that excuse back and GET THIS DUSTER! After all these years, IT STILL BLOWS LEAVES OFF THE PORCH! As soon as I can find some room in the budget, I will purchase another one because it simply is such an amazing product and of such quality that I could no more function without it than I could function without my microwave oven. TO THE PEOPLE THAT MADE IT, I CAN ONLY THANK YOU FOR YOUR CRAFTSMANSHIP AND BEG YOU TO NOT CHANGE A THING! Just in case that my answer to the question about static discharge would give anyone any ideas like "well, of course it is reliable, he uses it twice a year!" LET ME DISAVOW YOU OF THAT IDEA! It will dry a car, blow out the ac vents, and clean out (and not just inside the cooking area) a microwave. I also use it to blow out the tubes in the back of the fridge and behind and around here and there. I have even used it to clean out the VACUUM CLEANER! Hoses and all, when it came time to change the drive belt etc... I have no doubt that I got more use out of the vac simply because it did not have to work as hard as one that had more dirt in the hoses and the motor compartment than in the bag or canister! I do only have to dust the computer twice a year but that is only because it really does clean it out that well. No, I did not get paid to write this review (I have written very few) nor did I get the product at a discount or something. I did not know anything about either the product or the company back then; I first bought it with the idea that spray cans are not environmentally friendly and this was a way of doing something about the 12 cans or so that it took to clean the workstation because the "cheese grater" is far harder to clean with the cans than it is with this duster. Now, 7 years later, I do know and I mean what I said.

If you've ever tried to clean out your PC using compressed air canisters, you know how expensive they can be, and how annoying to use. Whether it's holding them perfectly upright so you don't get any liquid coming out, or losing the straw and not being able to reach the crevices you need to clean, they always seem to cause problems. This electric duster, while expensive for a one time purchase, will quickly reveal itself to be a money-saving and extremely useful device to have around the house, particularly if you have a decent computer that you want to treat properly. Here is a breakdown of the pros and few cons of the MetrovAC 500 Watt Electric Duster: Pros - Powerful and effective: This device has a strong little motor that blows a lot of clean, dry air with a surprising amount of force. Compared to a compressed air canister, which starts out strong and then weakens as you use it, the Electric Duster is an air moving powerhouse that doesn't let up. Just point it at the dust and crumbs you want to eliminate, turn it on, and watch them fly. It takes about 20 seconds to thoroughly clean out the interior of a dusty computer tower, compared to the couple of minutes it sometimes takes with canned air. - Multiple uses: In addition to cleaning out my computer, I've also found it to be useful for cleaning the air filters in my car and the air purifier I have in my home, greatly extending the life of filters that cost quite a lot of money to replace. Any other sort of gizmo or household object that collects dust but is difficult to clean is also fair game for the duster. For example, I've used it to clean camera components, window screens, the interior of my subwoofer, the handle frames of my folding knives, and blowing dust off a fake Christmas tree that was stored under the stairs. - Useful attachments: The Duster comes with several attachments that can be useful depending on your task at hand. For me, I've found that the nozzle that narrows to the tip is perfectly adequate for most jobs, though the crevice tool and small cleaning heads are good for cleaning out my mechanical keyboard. - Ergonomics and design: Although it may not be the coolest looking device on the market, its design is simple and effective. The handle is large and firm, giving you excellent control over where the duster is pointed. It also has a very long cord, about 10 feet by my estimate, which is long enough to reach many outlets but not too long that it becomes cumbersome when using or storing. The base of the unit also has 3 solid plastic feet which keep it upright and level on flat surfaces, as well as providing airflow into the bottom of the unit through the air filter. When you set the duster down, you know it will stay there. Cons and caveats - Hot hot heat: Okay, this shouldn't be surprising, based on the power this duster has, but the unit itself gets quite hot after prolonged use. Admittedly, most jobs shouldn't take that long, but if you've got a particularly tough dusting job, you'll need to be careful not to touch the metal sides of the duster. Thankfully, the handle is large enough that it shouldn't be a problem, and you won't get serious burns even if you do touch the metal, but you should still be cautious, and definitely don't let children use it as a toy. - Ow, my freaking ears: Speaking of this duster's power, it's motor gets surprisingly loud. Using it in a small indoor area for a significant length of time is not recommended unless you have earplugs or are like my dad and don't care about your hearing. It's not quite as bad as standing beside a central vacuum unit on full blast, but because you're generally holding it closer to your head you need to be careful. Using it outside is not quite as much of a concern. Which brings me to my final point. - USE IT OUTSIDE: Okay, this bad boy gets the job done, but unless you want to spend more time cleaning up the dirt you've blown out, you need to use this outside on a deck or porch, or in a workshop that it is already dirty. It may take a little extra work tracking down an extension cord or lugging your massive gaming PC onto the deck, but you really need to do so in order to fully utilize the power of this device. Because it is so powerful, you also need to be careful with delicate components, so always hold it far away at first and bring it closer if required. You properly won't blast components off your motherboard, but use good judgment when dealing with expensive or fragile devices. In a perfect world, the duster would have two settings, one high and one low for more delicate jobs, but as it is you should have no trouble adjusting distance and power as needed. Ultimately, I feel that these few concerns are easily outweighed by the positive aspects of the Electric Duster. Whether you're looking to clean out your brand new PC or blast the dust out of every crevice and cranny in your home, car, or office, the MetrovAC 500 watt Electric Duster will get the job done. Just remember to handle it with care, and protect your ears, and you'll be good to go.

More effective than I had expected; great for CPU fans and keyboards providing you use it outside due to the amount of dust etc that enters the atmosphere. It scores over an aerosol based air duster in many ways not least of which there is no risk of liquid coming out of the nozzle. It does get warm in operation, but I have never needed to use it for more than 30sec at a go. Beware the starting torque of the 500W motor can result in you dropping it if you are not gripping the handle tightly. A bit pricey, but then again a good quality canned air duster can set you back £15 and not last very long.
