Every brand feels silky as they should, but there is just an extra rich and luscious softness to how this one feels to the touch. I always hand wash my silk pillowcases inside out in Woolite with cool water before using, roll up in a dry towel to remove water, and lay flat to air dry, usually smoothed out across the top of my ironing board. This pillowcase washed up very well, several times now, with no noticeable color bleeding, and dried with minimal wrinkles back its fabulous silky smoothness! I change silk pillowcases every few days and this one is now top favorite of mine in rotation! Bravo, Beauty of Orient!!!You want to know what else I noticed? The inside has the best well-sewn and tightest seams of the several different brands I have purchased in the price range. The hidden zipper runs smoothly with each zipper end actually finished off with a straight and clean French seam, not just cut off and barely tacked down at some strange and crooked angle, as an after-thought. I think that it's helping. However, it's sooooo comfortable that I'm back here to order a second one to be able to have one to use while the other one's being washed, whether or not the pillow case is the reason for less frizz. It's very, very soft, without being slippery, and looks luxurious--not overly shiny or tacky. This silk is softer than any silk blouse I've ever had!I've washed it in the cold gentle cycle of the washing machine, inside of a laundry bag for delicates; then air dried it. I know that I'm not going to find time to hand wash it. At this price, if I have to replace it every year, it's worth the convenience. But so far, it's come through the laundry just fine!UPDATE: I've received the second one that I ordered, which is "Vanilla Ice". It's a cream color, with a very slight yellowish hue. It goes well with the off-white background of my bedspread. The other one I've bought is "Rose Water", which is a very nice, soft pink.UPDATE 2: I bought my first of these pillowcases 5 years ago, and rotate it with two others which were bought shortly thereafter.
