These are terrific. They really work!
My own personal experience using these is limited in time; I just got them yesterday. The thing is, I can be absolutely certain that these work as they should and have made a huge difference in what I hear coming out of my headphones. OK, so why is that? Well, a while back I purchased a small tube amplifier, the Little Dot MKII right here on Amazon. I also purchased upgraded tubes. I have been listening to my new tube amplifier for a few weeks now and love it, except for the fact that I have been battling a kind of low grade buzz which I wasn't able to hear while music or video was playing, but I could definitely hear it during the very quiet places and/or between tracks. It wasn't terrible but it was bad enough to just get under my skin a bit. I want music to sound as good as I can possibly make it sound given the gear I own and my limited budget. I listen on a pair of Sennheiser HD 600 headphones and this setup is pretty nice sounding to my ears. So here's where this product excels; I first plugged in 2 of these with the posts still attached and they did in fact make it much quieter, in fact I couldn't hear much of anything, even turned to near full volume. Once I unscrewed the posts and capped the outputs to my Little Dot the volume came back, the buzz is entirely gone and all is nearly right in my own world. I can find enough other RCA jacks to use the remaining 8 of these. I'd say do yourselves a favor and buy these if you are having a similar problem with a buzz. Skip the more expensive choices. In most cases I don't think anyone is likely to even notice these unless they happen to know of your buzz situation and one day notice that it's a thing of the past. This was a very inexpensive and effective fix!

Good Quality, Fit Snugly, TIGHTEN THEM FIRST!
NOTE: Before installing these, make sure you twist the pin connector all the way into the housing. Most of the ones I received were fairly loose, which could result in getting a pin stuck in your RCA inputs if you go to remove the plug and the pin has wiggled its way out of the housing. These little plugs do the trick nicely to cap off your open RCA input terminals. I use them to close off the open grounds on the RCA plugs on my preamp, and they fit well. The fit and finish are pretty good, with decent rhodium plating and a hefty feel for the size.

Good RCA cap!
Fits snugly. Using it (without the centre pin) to protect the unused RCA in/out on my integrated amp from tarnishing. Looks nice & neat. Also like the little knob for ease of handling & grip. Hope the Gold plating doesn’t oxidise too easily.

They Worked In My Situation
I bought a few packs of these for my Krell HTS 7.1 Preamp. On some inputs, I was getting a very high pitched buzz (~16kHz?). It was audible from my chair which is 9' away. I figured this had to be RFI or EMI and these are cheap enough to give 'em a shot. Well to my surprise, they worked! I won't say anything outlandish about sound quality improvements but they got rid of that annoying buzz. The only time it was audible after installing these was when I turned on the TV - and muuuuch less so. I was using a coaxial cable for the Krell's setup menu. And being as it's all setup with timing and balanced SPLs now, I went ahead and unplugged that coaxial cable. Now it's as quiet as a tomb in all inputs. I still have a few inputs left to cover so I've gone ahead and ordered 2 more packs. So to sum up this review.... If you have RF problems, these might help. If your system is quiet, save your money.

Ok
Well built but hard to tell if it actually improves the sound. It does protect from dust unused RCA plugs. I’m only using these as caps, not shorting “termination” (I’ve removed the central pin from all of them).I tried shorting unused inputs on my Schiit Saga and got weird noises and pops when switching between inputs. Nothing damaged, but Definitely not an improvement... :-(I think the original Cardas stainless steel caps are better built. Functionally they appear identical.

Good quality and they work
Nicely made; the screw-in pin means you can use it not only as a shorting plug for input jacks but also as a cover for output jacks. I used them on a couple of empty inputs on a Radio Shack switcher; the difference was dramatic.

Lowered the noise floor of my Audio Research vacuum tube preamplifier.
These shorting plugs lowered the noise floor of my Audio Research vacuum tube preamplifier. To prove this I used headphones and switched between unused and used line inputs. Unused inputs had background noise when not shorted. When shorted they were much quieter!Well worth the small amount invested.

These increased noise on my pre-amp.
These made things worse
