Its hand crank is more of a novelty since it would take an entire week of constant cranking to charge the battery. The solar panel only charges battery when in full sun and takes many days to fully charge the battery. Promised wind, water, etc charging options have not materialized. Customer service email requests asking if the unit can be charged with a vehicle go unanswered. The hand crank generator and battery make this unit too heavy to carry around. In its current form, only usable on expeditions where you have access to AC power to recharge battery.
