You can set it up as wide as about 3 feet, or as narrow as 1 foot in diameter. **Q: Has anyone had experience in using these with AB800's and a softbox say around 30x60? And if so - how do you like it?** A: I'm using these with AB800 and AB400 with a Extra Large Softbox from Paul C Buff, as well as Octobox's, Strip boxes etc, so far they have had no issue what so ever and the weight doesn't seem to be a factor at all. They are pretty heavy duty, yet you can take them on location with the carrying bag, big plus. **Q: I want to mount a video camera. Can i swivel left and right? Is there an arm adapter can attach at the bottom?** A: I purchased these to mount the base stations for an HTC VIVE which needed to swivel to set up properly. In order to be able to swivel the base stations on these tripods, I had to also purchase MDW 2 PACK Tripod Mini Ball Head for HTC VIVE Holder,Camera Camcorder which fit perfectly and allow swiveling. Unfortunately, I am not sure about the arm adapter. **Q: What is the maximum load (in Lbs / Kgs ) for this stand? Can t carry studio strobes and large umbrellas easily at the top?** A: I do not know the max load but the stand is built very well. Unless you are talking about say 40 lbs at max extension I think it should hold what you need. When you get the stands make sure that everything work correctly.
