It does remind you of the ocean but has some sweet and even salty notes mixed in. I thought this was going to be light or daytime/summer fragrance but to my surprise I think this is strong enough for any occasion without being overpowering. Keep in mind fragrances are a very subjective matter and different people have different tastes...hey the same cologne can smell different on me then it does on someone else. I'm the type of person that has never really run into a cologne that I thought was absolutely horrible, yes certain smells may not be my thing but even blind buying cologne's according to the reviews and descriptions, I have yet to be highly disappointed.
