This is an easy to use and useful item to have around the office if you work a lot of shredders. It is a universal oil that works with any brand and any model, as long as that model is allowed to make use of such oils. That last part is very important since some models do not allow the use of oils, forcing you to have to use the more expensive sheets that you have to run through the shredder. The sheets work well at times, but nothing works better than pure oil being squirted where it is needed best. Sadly, some shredder units are sealed shut to the point that there is no way to get the oil directly to where it needs. These models are generally marked with an icon on the top face of the shredder that looks like a bottle of oil with a line drawn through it (where the icons show the does and don'ts of the model. However, if you have a model that allows for direct oil use, this is one of the best ones you can get your hands on. It will last a long time if you store it right and with the cap on, and works with any (oil-able) model. As a mom of two constantly battling the chaos of paper clutter, I cannot stress enough how crucial the Fellowes Powershred Performance Oil is, and how infuriated I am that I didn't know about it sooner! If you think ignoring your shredder's maintenance is no big deal, think again! After my previous shredder choked its last, I learned my lesson the hard way. This 12-ounce bottle is a lifesaver, with an extended nozzle that actually gets the oil where it needs to go – something I wish I had known before. For cross-cut shredders, Fellowes insists on oiling twice a month, and for micro-cut shredders, it's after every 15 minutes of use. Who has time for that, right? But trust me, it's worth it. Since begrudgingly following these instructions, my shredder hasn't jammed or groaned once, unlike the horror show I dealt with before. If you value your sanity and your shredder, do not skip on this oil. Consider this a dire warning from a mom who's seen the dark side of shredder neglect!
