they were supposed to be for holding a backdrop on it's frame (10'x20'). Unfortunately, they are too small t0 spread out far enough to attach the backdrop to the frame, resulting in them breaking in half after a couple minutes of pressure.The solution is just go to Lowes or Home Depot and buy plastic clamps that are strong enough to do the job.
