I was looking for a professional steamer for my wedding and life. The J-2000 fit the bill perfectly. I have worked with the J-4000 as someone who worked in retail but wanted something a little smaller but by the Jiffy brand as their steamers are amazing. The J-2000 is very easy to fill with distilled water and provides about an hour to an hour and a half of steaming (all depends on the fabric you are steaming, Linen will really absorb the water and even with the j-4000, I was refilling it in about 45 minutes when our linen shipments arrived). Like the J-4000, it is easy to use and works so well. If you have not used a steamer before, take your time. Focus on the hard lines and steam inside and outside of the garment but be careful not to burn yourself. The hose will heat up and if you go inside of a garment you are not allowing the steam the ability to escape. I have not had the sputtering I sometimes had with the J-4000, so no hot water drops on my feet as I steam. The J-2000 heats quickly (with the J-4000 you allow the water to heat and them click it over to steam about a 20 minute process. the J-2000 is just a click on and it was steaming within 10 minutes.) and works beautifully. It has the power of the J-4000 without being as large. Great for around the house and smaller retail establishments. It steamed my veil beautifully and took the hard lines in the silk robes I picked up for my bridal party out so quickly. Excellent product, great brand, awesome smaller size. Who needs an iron with this!

Great steamer! Worth the price
Never thought I’d be someone who loves their steamer this much but I do! I originally bought it to steam my Indian wedding outfits. Ironing them can be a pain/impossible with the amount of fabric and heavy embroidery. I had every intention of either leaving it at my mom’s house or returning it after the wedding but I couldn’t! I’ve never been a fan of handheld steamers since they don’t really work but this thing is amazing! Like others have said, it won’t make hard creases in your clothes if you want that but it is very good at removing wrinkles from clothes. Since purchasing it I’ve used it on everyday clothes, Indian suits, and even my husband’s shirts, pants, and suits. It’s worked great for our needs! Haven’t had to pull out the iron in months. The steamer takes a minute or two to heat up. It will make a bubbling noise when water in the tank gets too low to create a constant steam. I usually refill it when it’s about half empty. It works best if you hang the clothing item against a surface then press the head of the steamer gently against the clothes. I bought a hanging steam mat also to put against the door and prevent damage from the steam. For longer clothes I will hang it from the top of thecloset door because the lower the steam hose is, the less steam comes out. It’s much better it it’s higher. It’s a little pricy but definitely worth it! It’s made life much easier. I actually miss it when I don’t have access to it like when we travel and need to dewrinkle our clothes.

Read the directions and it works great.
I've used portable steamers for years and read a lot of reviews about different floor standing models before purchasing this one. This steamer is easy to assemble, heats up quickly, holds about 3/4 of a gallon worth of water, has a well insulated handle, pumps out steam in a steady flow and pretty much does everything you'd expect a quality steamer to do. Construction is excellent and even the plastic head is made from a nice heavy plastic. If you'd prefer a metal head, one is available from Amazon. The instructions are brief, to the point and complete and as long as you follow them, you'll get great results. Here's what I mean: 1. getting wrinkles out not only depends on steam but also touching the head directly to the cloth 2. if you buy this expecting to generate nice sharp creases in trousers, you'll be disappointed ... UNLESS you buy or make a steaming board. However, if you are a "razor sharp" crease person, use an iron. 3. even though you can use tap water, based on past experience, I recommend that you don't. Gallon bottles of distilled water are cheap at the grocery store and you won't have to use the recommended cleaner to cleanse the heating element and thermostat probe. If you do intend to use tap water, buy a bottle of the system cleaner for 6 bucks ... it's easy to use. I wear business suits daily and dry cleaning costs a fortune. Yes, you still need to dry clean to keep them fresh, but I can usually wear a suit two or three times before cleaning (depending on weather) and this steamer makes easy work out of taking out wrinkles, even the stubborn ones in the crotch, seat and coat back. Most of my suits are "permanently creased" by my tailor, so steaming wrinkles still leaves me with pretty sharp creases. Want to touch up a wash-and-wear shirt that sat in the dryer to long? This is a fast and easy way to make the shirt look great. Everybody has their own preference, but for me this is much easier than ironing. My wife uses it on very delicate stuff without problems. All-in-all, a great little tool for helping you look sharp. I wouldn't trade mine in.

The Best Steamer I’ve Ever Owned, Worth Every Penny!
I’ve tried so many handheld and travel steamers over the years, and nothing even comes close to the Jiffy. The difference in power is immediate. It produces a steady stream of steam within about two minutes. You can tell it’s built to last; the product feels professional-grade. I mainly use it for clothing, but I’ve also used it on bedding, and it works beautifully. It easily smooths out linen and thick cotton, and it even revives pieces that have been sitting in storage. I also love that I can refill it mid-session without having to wait for it to cool down. One small note: it’s not compact, so it’s more suited for a closet or laundry area than for travel. But that’s the trade-off for serious power and reliability. If you steam often or care about keeping your clothes looking crisp without ironing, this is absolutely worth the investment. It’s one of those products you buy once and never have to replace.

Nice steamer, wish pole was taller.
So far so good. This is our second commercial steamer. I think this one will hold up better than old one (different brand) Pros- great steam production, can use for extended time, light weight moves around easy. Cons- pole is way too short to hang and steam clothing on if you are more than 5ft tall.

Great purchase
After borrowing a friend's ConAir steamer, and reading numerous reviews, I purchased this Jiffy from Amazon about a month ago. The Jiffy seems to be better-built than the ConAir, and puts out more steam, more consistantly than the model I borrowed. In the last month, I have steamed everything I can think of in my house, to see how it works. I have been pleased with this product, and here is what I have learned: 1) A steamer is not an iron. While I have read reviews of how you can press creases into clothing, I have not been successful in this (yet). I don't really care about creases, though, and have not spent much time trying. 2) A steamer is a tool. You have to learn how to use it properly to get good results. Steaming from underneath works better than steaming downward into the right side of the fabric. Just like anyone who uses a hammer a few times is almost certainly going to hammer their finger, you will probably burn yourself while you are learning to use a steamer. When I first started using the steamer, I wanted to steam upwards, like I iron. It was counter-inuitive for me, but it works better to steam downwards. 3) Wrinkles really do fall out of fabrics, but this seems to only happen with synthetic fibers or blends with a high percentage of synthetics. If I had trouble ironing it, it will take some work to steam it. However, I always iron in more wrinkles than I take out, so for natural or difficult fabrics, I do a better job with a steamer. Fabrics that I was afraid to iron (too thin/delicate) steam beautifully. Now, about the Jiffy J-2000 specifically: This steamer heats up very quickly, in just two or three minutes. I like to turn it on while I decide what to wear, and by the time I get it all together, it is ready to use. The wattage (1300) is slightly higher than most personal steamer models and makes a big difference in how quickly you can finish a garment. The steamer is very sturdily built. It uses heavy-duty plastics, and comes with a wrench (magnetically attached underneath the steamer body) to secure the parts tightly. The pole that holds the steamer head and clothing is shorter than I would personally like (and the hose is a little shorter, too) and stands about 5 feet. I could not steam all the way to the top of my curtains, while they were mounted to the wall. The water reservoir does not leak, although when you pull it out, some water does remain in the connection area, but not enough to make a mess. The list price on amazon for the steamer was 169.99, quite a deal more than most of the other steamers listed on Amazon. I purchased mine with a special 25$ off through Amazon, so paid 145$. I think that it is worth that price. I would not pay this much for the ConAir model that I borrowed. In a year, I may think the Jiffy is worth the Amazon list price.

At best adequate (but even then only for short people)
I had high expectations for this device but have been very disappointed. It is slow to get to "maximum steam" (not in 1 minute as they claim) and the steam output is marginally higher than a hand steamer but not impressive. Granted this steamer has a larger head so the steamer makes a wider path but that is about it. More importantly the steam output is not sufficient to remove difficult wrinkles or wrinkles from heavy materials. The steamer is of average build quality but sadly the hangar rod comes in 3, very difficult to store, pieces (instead of a much more sensible and useful telescoping rod). It is claimed that the steam hose is 5.5 feet - maybe it is - but all I can say is that for someone of any height (6 ft. in my case) it does not reach any height which makes steaming a comfortable process. They market a Steamboard which they clearly show attached to the top of a closet door. Putting aside the fact that you may not wish to ruin your closet door the hose on this machine would NEVER reach the top of any door (except a dog door). Likewise the top of the rod does not allow you to hang an garment at a height you could steam without bending over. Moreover since the hose is not insulated you have to be careful when going through your toe-touching exercises, or when on your knees, to steam clothes that the hose does not come in contact with your skin. As best I can tell this is a machine for people who don't want to keep refilling the hand models. With its reservoir tank there is adequate water storage for most any steaming session. Other than that it offers nothing - except a much higher price tag. It really isn't worth the money Follow-up: Spoke with company and they could not have been less helpful; were ever so pleased with themselves and; claimed they have been making this item "since the 40"s and there have been no problems". (The logic apparently being that as long as the product has been on the market for a long time then it must be a high quality item. I guess the makers of Spam could claim the same thing but like this product no one would really claim Spam to be a quality item.) When I asked them why they show photos of people hanging things on door frames and using the machine which has only a 5.5 ft. cord the woman told me no one has any problem with that and she has done that for 15 years. So I guess everyone at Jiffy has door frames at 5.5 to 6 feet high.

Nothing better: Quality Product that Works well, Forever
No, I am not an expert in fabric steamers, or even good at basic ironing. I bought this as a gift for my wife several years ago. She asked for a basic little hand-steamer that was advertised on TV. I looked it up and saw the horrendous reviews, decided that with the good reviews on this one, maybe it would be worth the extra money. Not only was I right, it has exceeded our expectations. This thing is built solid. Everything about it says quality. Nothing has ever failed or broken. No parts need replacing, no filters need changing. You do have to lift the solidly-made plastic water container out of the unit and fill it up with water every now and then (actually not that often, unless you use this thing for literally hours every day I guess). But for a daily touch-up of a shirt or dress, the water lasts a long time without refilling. Its easy to do, too. You lift the big contoured black handle, pull it straight up and out, go to the sink, unscrew the lid, fill it up with tap water, screw it back and put it back in. There is even a little handle on the bottom side to hold it while you are filling it with water--they thought this thing out well! No mess or spills either. Nothing has ever leaked. Yea, it does look a little dated and utilitarian. Who cares? It sits at the ready in the corner behind our refrigerator. You roll it out on the smooth caster wheels, flip the big switch which lights up a pleasing soft green when on, and in seconds you hear a gurgling sound and steam is pumping out of the wand, ready to get to work. The big switch can be easily turned on with your foot without even stooping if you want! The solid aluminum metal clothes hanger holds your garment securely. Just leave the clothes on a hanger, hang it on the rod, and sweep the wand around the fabric to get wrinkles out. No pulling out the squeaky ironing board, setting up a iron, no burning of clothes. Yep, you can burn your skin a little with the very hot steam from the wand if you are lazy and not paying attention--I did it a few times when I started using it, not anymore. Just be careful. Look, I'm a guy. I don't like to iron clothes, or even steam them. But this thing works so easily and takes so little time, I just try to listen to my wife when she tells me I need to iron my shirt. Frankly, this gift keeps on giving for years. She loves it, I love it. It makes us both happy when we use it! ;) Wrinkles fade out like magic when you use it. It actually works, it's easy to do, even kinda fun. It makes me feel good when I use it, cause it makes my wife happy. Seriously, that is worth its weight in gold, isn't it? As the label proudly states, it is made in the USA. Did I mention how easy it is to set this thing up out of the box? A little kid could do it (probably better than us). I've reviewed a lot of other stuff, but for some reason forgot to review this Original Jiffy Steamer when I got it, years ago. If I could give this product 10 stars, I would. There is nothing not to like about it.

I Haven't Used an Iron Since #lifechanging
Let's start off by saying I hate ironing. This steamer had been on my wishlist for awhile due to the price and also the size. I really wanted to make sure that I would get the use out of it to justify it. If you're thinking about, all I can say is: Buy It. This is a professional steamer that I keep near my closet. It does a fantastic job, it heats up quickly and smooths out clothing almost immediately. It works well on all types of materials. The thicker the material the longer it will take to steam. Dress shirts and pants are done within minutes. I have now had this for years and I use it weekly. I have since recommended this product to everyone I know.

No more wrinkles!
After buying a cheap steamer years ago that didn’t work, I was unsure about buying an expensive one. I did a lot of research reading product reviews before buying. This Jiffy steamer is worth every penny. I love it. It’s so easy to use. No fancy bells or whistles. A quality product. It does what it says it will do. I haven’t used my iron since I got this and may never iron again!
