They do not splinter easily and hold up well on the grill as long as you soak them beforehand. The 12-inch length is ideal — long enough to keep your hands away from the heat but not so long they become unwieldy. Now for the fun part — a funny note that anyone who has opened a pack of these knows well: these things are basically tiny spears. Once you pull one out of the pack you will quickly realize you are holding what could only be described as a miniature weapon. These are great bamboo skewers! Only six inches in length here, but quite sturdy. Packaging and shipping were FAST!

Diameter of the skewers is 2-2.5 mm, very thin. Could have bought this product from any of the lower price available. Also it's written on the pack itself that it is of 80 skewers not 100.
