I've fed this product to my cats for around 10 years. They liked it, and I was happy to give them an ultra premium food option. In the last 6 months or so I have noticed that their quality control has gone down. Some batches would be overly dry, or have an unusual odor. I figured it was due to getting an old case of food here or there. Well the cats have stopped eating the food all together, even when it appears to be a good batch.I've since found out that Del Monte has purchased Natural Balance. I imagine the QC issues I've had were due to the transition and the cats no longer liking the food to what I would assume is corporate cost cutting.

The first 24-can case I bought from Amazon was fine. All 3 of my cats gobbled it up, so I ordered another 24-can case. This batch is too runny, almost like soup and at first, only one cat would eat it. Chicken broth is the #1 ingredient. I suspect this batch got too much broth. I contacted Natural Balance with the code numbers on the bottoms of the cans. They assured me the food was safe and if I'm not satisfied, I can return the cans on their 100% satisfaction guarantee. I'm not going to pay to ship it back to Amazon. Two cats eat it now, with no obvious health-related issues. I will try the product one more time and if I get a runny batch again, I will look for a different cat food. FYI---The "Best by" date was 9/21/19 and the code numbers are: 6265089 RN9 18:01.

This was our cat's favorite food. For some reason, some executive at Natural Balance recently decided to change the recipe. The new (2019 best by date) Catatouille isn't close to being the same as the old. Looks different with a clear gravy. And our cat threw it up. And he has turned his nose up at it ever since. This is sad news, as we are now scrambling to find a substitute. Why the change New Balance?

I just confirmed with the company that they changed the formula- I wanted to post this in case anyone's cats are having a similar allergic reaction. It does not sound like a big formula change, so your cat may be fine. My cat has been eating this for a year or two now and doing really well with it. She has been eating this new batch for about 3 weeks, and since this batch started she has been pulling out clumps of her fur, and she has rash spots on her mid-back. I just noticed with the latest batch that the consistency changed and that the label was different, and I called the company and confirmed the formula change. I'll need to find a new formula/brand.

I have two older Tonkinese cats (12 and 14) and like most other cats I've had, drive me a little crazy loving something and then suddenly hating it, or start to throw it up. Chicken has long been a problem, so when I got the last 12-pack it was obvious that it was a different recipe--looked and smelled different. Looked and was disappointed that it did list chicken. I had it, so I tried it. They still love it after eating the whole box and no throwing up. (I split the package between them and then give them a small amount of dry food (Natural Balance Duck and Pea or Fromm's Game Bird). once in the morning and once in the early evening.) Buying it in 12-packs is 60 cents cheaper that the big pet stores, so I have no complaints. the package says they test every batch and report it on their website.

This cat food has a very mushy, sloppy, gross texture, like it's been watered down. My two senior cats (who normally eat ANYTHING) absolutely HATED this stuff! They sniffed it and jumped down immediately, then realizing that's all there was to eat, they went back several minutes later and licked some of it, but again left it. One of my cats was hungry enough to eat about half of it, then promptly puked it right back into the bowl! Now I have a 24 case of these cans they wont touch anymore, PLUS another 24 case of the Natural Balance 3 oz kitten food of the same flavor that seems to be the exact same food as this one, that neither of my cats will touch either! It says on the cans, it has been reformulated, so like other reviews, I'm suspicious this is the reason, because I know I've bought Natural Balance in the past and they've never had a problem before with it. Extremely disappointed that Amazon won't let you return cat food, because this crap isn't cheap!!! >:( It's not like you can buy a sample first! This stuff at any local pet store seems to be completely different than the junk Amazon sells for less. I'm not the only customer to notice this discrepancy either. What's up with that?

Bad case made cats sick!This is second time I have received a bad case of this product thru Amazon. I received one good case between the two bad ones.The price being considerably less than the local pet store and label appears the same, BUT it is not the same product.My always hungry 5 cats either won't touch it or vomit it all up.As a test I go to the local pet store & buy one can & all is happily consumed.The expire date and product number are in picture below for reference. The cans have strange rust marks on bottom of cans. I am concluding someone put the NB labels on an inferior product.This is dangerous.

Hey guys, new food!!.. Here comes three of my furry friends. They all stood in front of their bowls and looked at me "what did you buy?"I said "let me read you. It's a paste with gravy, and it says both of your favorite tuna and chicken are in it." As they waited for me to open the package I could feel their rising expectation. If they were humans, I bet they drummed their bowls with their folks and spoons. When I saw the food I had a feeling oops where is the gravy? the food was so runny that it was truly like baby puree or thick smoothie with no bits of nothing. I got eye contacts with all of them and they urged me to show them what I saw. Yep, they got it. Two of them turned around and went back to their activities. One of them at least gave a sniff as his polite gesture but moved over to his turbo toy where I usually serve cat treats on. I thought they would get used to it, but every package I opened, they did not touch or smell. Lucky stray cats or raccoons. I put the bowls outside when turned down by my cats, and bowls are empty the next morning.

好き嫌いが激しく食べ飽きもする我が家のネコさんが、これは飽きることなく食べてくれています。毎回箱買い。これとK9の缶詰、あとアルモネイチャーの素材系缶詰フードしか、今は食べません。新規開拓も不発に終わり…。これに食べ飽きたらおしまいなので、毎食他のフードとローテーションして飽きないようにしています。

probably great cat food, but our cat does not like it :(maybe buy the fish option if your cat likes fish! ours likes that one better.
