Drawing Near: Daily Readings for a Deeper Faith

One of the best daily devotional book I have ever read. I just finished the year and learned so my more about the Bible and God in a personal way. Love the daily suggested bible verses to further understand each day’s message. Great investment.

Daily text is thought provoking and a great way to start each day

Each daily devotional is based on a scripture, with accompanying thoughts by John MacArthur, a very clear Bible teacher. Plus, there is a prayer suggestion based on the scripture as well as a final reference to other scriptures to consider reading that are related to the daily one. I have found greater meaning from the scriptures by following these daily devotionals.

Great devotional by pastor MacArthur. He selects the texts and gives us a short teaching about the passage and an exhortation to live the Christian life to the glory of our great God. This is an excellent biblical source to begin the day.

I really like this book as it is set up for the reader to read a page a day. There is a scripture at the top, and then further discussion on how it applies to common life today. Its really inspiring and thought provoking. If you have more time on any given day, further scripture is listed for you to look up in your own Bible to read further on this topic. Even if I know I only have a little bit of time before rushing off into my day, I know I can just read the one page, but if I have more time, I can take it deeper and pray over what the topic is covering. Very helpful to me, as it fits my schedule, and makes me think deeper into scripture and know just how to apply it to my day each morning.

John MacArthur is an amazing author and KNOWS scripture. Such deep, inspiring devotions and I am very pleased with this purchase.

One of the best devotionals on the market. This wonderful book can be used in family worship time, during individual worship and devotions, also, in individual, as well as group topical Bible Studies. This book is written so that a new believer can study it, yet, not so simple that a mature believer cannot grow while studying the lessons. John MacArthur really outdid himself with this little Jewell. The book also has excellent topical and Scripture indexes in the back. What a value, spiritually as well as $$.

John Macarthur is a true man of God. His teachings are based strictly on the Word of God and he preaches and teaches the true faith, not the garbage that the Word of Faith preachers preach. He teaches about humility, brokeness, repentance, holiness, purity of heart, true worship, sacrifice, sacrificial love and unselfishness, just as Jesus taught.With this daily devotional a Christian can grow in the true faith and knowledge of Jesus Christ our Lord and I would recommend it to anyone seeking the real truth of Scripture. We must find the door that leads to salvation and the narrow road we have to walk if we want a fulfilling honest Spirit filled life with the Saviour.

Daily Bible reading is such a rewarding activity and this book gives daily readings with an insightful and thought provoking explanation, a prayer and suggestions for further study. Highly recommended.

We have found these devotions helpful, thought provoking and excellent theologically. The extensions for study can take a long time, but the main reflections are super.

I am enjoying reading this book daily, it`s encouraging and challenging, I recommend it.
