2/5 tools are good.
I purchased these with eyes wide open based on the previous reviews. I mainly ordered this package for the root rake and pick since it was cheaper to just buy this package than those individually. Those two tools are fine and will serve their purposes nicely. The rest of the package is not worth anything to me. The scissors are cracked and bent so badly that they wouldn't even worth. The bamboo rake was also broken/bent and the brush was already turning to dust. If you are looking for this as a main bonsai set, save your money and buy a better set.

Terrible! Rusted & dirty metal tools & the others were already falling apart.
Wish there was a zero star rating!!! I should have read more reviews before purchasing this kit. The rake arrived missing a couple tines, the little broom was falling apart & the other tools all had rust on them. Like another reviewer stated, mine arrived with actual dirt in the bag. It was as if someone just packed up a heavily used set & shipped them to me. So glad they were an Amazon Prime purchase & that I could return them hassle free.

The only reason you don't get 1 stars is that you made an effort in terms of aesthetics. The shape of the scissors, rake, and brush are really nice. But the functionality of the bamboo rake and the brush are zero. The bamboo rake will brake if used. The brush is so rarely used for bonsai that it isn't necessary for a bonsai kit. The rest of the items are yet to be tested. I hope to improve this rating in the next 3-5 years.

Quality of Shears
The quality of the shears has much to be desired for. You get what you paid for: low price, low quality. The shears had some rust already. They were not easy to use because of rustiness. If you want replacement shears, do not buy this kit. Buy the shears individually, and look for Japanese quality. You will notice the quality right away.

Missing moss rake and shears don't even work.
Having a hard time finding contact info for these people so here I am trying to get someone's attention. At this price, I did not expect these tools to last forever but they should still work on arrival if you are going to sell them.- Shears dont close properly because of mus alignment of the blades, they are corroded at the connection point.- I did not even recieve a moss rake. Not here to cause a hard time just recieve what I paid for.

Rusty Tools & Drenched in Machine Oil
Rusty tools, drenched in machine oil. I had to sit there and clean the scissors with rubbing alcohol for an hour just to get them to open and close a little easier. All gunked up with machine oil. I know this "kit" is pretty cheap, but I've bought a lot of cheaper tools on amazon and none have been as bad as this. Do yourselves a favor, buy the items separately and get some good ones.

Good Value, Quality Tools
This basic tool kit contains almost all the essential tools you will need as a novice or beginning bonsai rancher. The one tool it does not contain that might be needed is a "concave cutter." which I found on Amazon offered in tandem with another standard cutter. The tools all appear to be of good quality, sturdy and rustic. I have used some of them in planting my bonsai and they performed well. They feel sturdy and heavy or substantial in my hand, which I always like in my tools. I would recommend this set for the novice.

Perfect.
Set of Bonzai tools. They might seem too light weight to experienced bonzai hobyists but for us beginners their very lightness helps us remember to do root separating, planting, trimming, etc. with a gentle hand.
