What's wrong with your wifi?? Hmmm....
I just set this up, so I might change the star rating. But after reading many of the negative reviews, I realized a mistake many people made. As a disclaimer, some did this and still could not connect, BUT I am speaking to those who had to change their router to 2.4G from 5G. I don't know enough about all router's, but forget about them that's not the issue. The clock does not do its initial connection by using the router. It uses the app, which is on your phone. So, if your phone is connected to a 5G network, your clock won't work. You need to set your phone to a 2.4G network (this is if your router broadcasts both bands). Go to your phone's settings and click on the option that contains wifi. On my phone, that's "Connections". Click on wifi to see available networks. You should see something with 2G or 2.4G on it. Click on that and if needed, enter the password (it's the same as the 5G one). Once your phone is on 2.4, then continue with setup on the app. Voila! Done. I think the entire setup was 3 minutes? As for the app, I don't have sensors, so it's not much use to me. I might buy one for my true outside temps, but I'm fine for now.And those who are shocked that it's wifi uh... It's in the product name? If you read through the description, you will see that it states that most everything uses wifi. You can set it up without wifi, but if you do this, you will pretty much have a regular projection clock. If you buy sensors (it supports up to 3), you can have more features, but I don't believe you can get the forecast or highs and lows (I might be wrong about that).I'll see how the clock functions for a little bit, and if I need to add onto this, I will.(In the dark picture, there is no outer ring. That's just my phone).

Exactly what I was looking for
Definitely, like this alarm clock. Previous atomic alarm clock could not keep time or connect to the WWVB signal. Took me a couple of minutes to connect this one to my 2Ghz WiFi network following the well documented manual instructions. The only thing omitted is that your phone MUST be connected to your 2Ghz WiFi network. So you should configure your router to have separate 2Ghz 5Ghz and now 6Ghz access point names. For major brands like NETGEAR and ASUS this is easy to do when setting up your router. However, Lacrosse could have prevented this confusion simply by using a 2Ghz+5GhzWi-Fi chip in the clock rather than a 2Ghz WiFi chip.I like the auto dim feature and the data layout on the screen. Probably the best alarm clock out there at present.

Never seen a product that is so hard to connect to WIFI.
To start, I have been building, configuring, and working on PCs for 20+ years. Also studied Electrical Engineering (EE), worked as an EE, and then moved on to Software Engineering, where I am today. I say all of this to give an idea of my background and that I am very good and comfortable with technology.I tried all the usual ways to get it connect, but it simply would not work. Researched, found people recommending changing certain router settings*.In the end, I found they have two additional** "advanced" ways to get this connected to WIFI. The first is using the WPS feature of your router - it didn't work. The second is to put the clock in what they call "SoftAP" mode***. This is where you can connect directly to the clock over WIFI. The WIFI network name it creates is "Weather Clock", but it might appear as a "Hidden Network". I put the clock in SoftAP Mode, found "Weather Clock" on my android phone, hit connect and got an error about not being able to get an IP Address. Another article**** on their help site says this is expected on Android 12+ and to try from another device. On my laptop, I found in the network list a Hidden Network (Open) and I connected to it. It worked*****. I opened a browser and typed in 192.168.4.1 as they instruct and I was able to get to the WIFI set up page of the clock. From there I entered the SSID (your WIFI network name) and password and hit submit and it actually worked. It's now connected to WIFI and the time and weather are in sync and I can also see my clock in the La Crosse View App.* This device only has a 2.4GHz radio and most routers today can do both 2.4GHz and 5GHz simultaneously. You need to ensure the 2.4GHz radio is enabled on the router and if it's on a separate WIFI Name like "JoeBob_24G", you have to make your clock connect to that network.** Google "La Crosse View App: How do I connect?" and scroll to "Are There Other Connection Options?"*** Google "Connecting to Wi-Fi with Android OS12 Devices"**** Google "La Crosse View App: Wi-Fi Connection via SoftAP"***** I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't work from every laptop. You may have try a few.

Sad to say, but avoid Cross Technologies Products!
I have been using a Cross projection clock for over 10 years. Aside from the fact that it was overly complicated to adjust (just forget using the alarm) it worked perfectly with one flaw. Connection for time adjustment to the atomic clock took MONTHS! If you adjusted the clock for correct time after a time change, it would eventually connect and be off an hour again. I've suffered through this for 10 years and decided to "UPGRADE" to a WIFI version. Not only is the new clock ridiculously complicated to set up, it doesn't work!!! Wifi connection lasted all of 5 minutes AFTER an hour of trying to get it to connect. My WIFI signals are VERY strong and work everywhere on the property, but not with this clock. I also couldn't get the clock to scroll between outdoor temp and time which is a must, and I had it with the previous clock. Tech support is just long wait times. The clock was also delivered with a dead battery which means it been used before. That might not be unheard of if it was delivered from Amazon, but this was drop shipped direct from Cross. I've now lost all faith in this company and with search for better products. In the meantime, my old cross is back in place.

Great, but no way to focus.
The product description states manual focus of the projector. There is no way to focus. On a positive note the beam can be adjusted to project at 90 degrees meaning it’s parallel to your vision looking up rather than perpendicular.

Good once you have mastered the wi-fi connection
Took me about an hour to get it up and running. I eventually did a factory reset and switched off all the 5ghz networks on my router and it connected first time. As others have said it looks like you can't connect to a router broadcasting anything other than 2.4ghz but I can't be 100% certain as it may have been the factory reset which fix it. I had expected a bit more to be honest but for the money it's great value. I have the internet temperature projected on my ceiling alternating with the time and a bunch of information on the display. My ceilings are very high and there is no ability to focus the beam so the image is a tiny bit blurred. You can auto-dim the display at night and you can change the intensity of the beam, you can even switch off the screen completely if you like a very dark room.
