My elder brother had an all-white, plastic set of these back in the late 1950s - which I always struggled with!Then I read all about them in Arthur C. Clarke’s book, “Imperial Earth”, where I first heard them called “Pentominoes”. Colours attractive, though not enough difference between red, orange and pink. But box label and instructions all in Chinese. Disappointing. The diagrams don't seem to relate to the basic challenge of fitting the pieces into the tray. You need to know that there are 2339 solutions. Pieces are not cut whole but are made of smaller pieces stuck together with obvious joins that detract from the appearance. Can't say how long the joints will hold. I failed to spot that delivery was not for weeks. I ordered one with the idea of seeing what it was like and then ordering more for Xmas presents, but I'm now too late.
