what is the size of these binoculars

The width is about 3.5 inches, length 4.5 inches and a height of less than 2 inches. They don't weigh very much. Easy to wear around neck. The case can be worn around waist with a belt.

Going on an Alaskan cruise which includes side excursions for wildlife viewing. Will these fit my needs?

Yes. I used these for wildlife viewing in Africa and Alaska. They are lightweight and compact and easy to focus.

Do these binoculars have flip down covers?

No. I have found them to be Wonderful binoculars, whether traveling on the Rhine River in Europe looking at castles to watching wildlife and birds in my backyard. I highly recommend.
