Excellent 8 Weight Fly Rod!
I bought this in an 8 weight to try and catch carp and throw large bass bugs. Before this rod I had a Redington Crosswater (a great combo in its own right but I like this rod better) that I stupidly broke. The TFO is fairly no frills, but has a nice double nut locking mechanism for the reel. I can more easily feel the bend in the rod while casting, especially compared to the Redington, and I like that tactile feedback. I like that it came with the alignment dots for the four separate pieces as well. It did come with a rod sock, but it is noticeably cheap. It does the job but I reused my Redington case.Overall it’s a great rod for not a lot of money.

Great Quality At An Affordable Price!!
In response to the review of these being made in Korea vs USA, any rod you find under $300 is going to be made somewhere in Asia. American manufacutrers can't compete with their costs unfortunately. For those of us on a budget this is the route we have to take if we are going to fish, as "decent" fly gear isn't cheap in comparrison to other conventional fishing styles. For what I paid for just one of my TFO rods I could have bought a nice spinning rod & reel set up, line, boat load of tackle, nice sectional tackle box, fishing license, a tank of gas, and a 12 pack of beer. I do try to steer clear of things made in China as much as possible due to them trying to corner the market on just about everything and their quality control is sub-parr.As for the TFO rods? The quality is incredibly great for the price. The rods cast and perform extremely well. I currently have 3 TFO rods in different sizes and lengths. All of the fish in the photos were caught on a 5/6 wt TFO Pro Series.

Great rod.
Originally purchased as a backup, but I still reach for it as a primary rod. Light sensitive tip but beefy enough base section with fighting butt to handle bigger fish

Unbelievably good rod at this price. Great rod period!
These rods are a spectacular value. I had an opportunity to fish one for most of the day during a trip to Bristol Bay over the summer. My own rod that day was a 6w Sage SP that I've loved for years, but we were doing a lot of switching around between rigs, so we left the SP set up for streamers and I used this TFO Professional Series II in very windy conditions to throw a dry/ double nymp dropper rig. I was blown away by it - honestly, I'm not really convinced it's not 100% the equal of my Sage SP! At $150, it's definitely the better value by a mile! Getting both my son's into fishing so I ordered two for their Christmas gifts. Suspect I'll be borrowing them back from time to time!

Handle
I use a 10 wt for musky, rod definitely cast great and loads up a lot nicer than my cabelas vector did. It seems to be holding up well but I’m really disappointed in the cork, after one outing I had to electrical tape the hole that developed right under my thumb. For a $200 rod that’s unacceptable in my opinion, if it wasn’t for the casting and handling it be a 3 star due to poor quality cork

Classic
I’ve had a Pro 2 in a 9’6” 5weight for 25+ years. It’s been an outstanding rod. I fell on it once and broke it. TFO stands behind their warranty perfectly. Now I have just purchased this 8’6” 4 weight. This is primarily for my son to use. Or for me to use on small water. I can feel it load easily. This is the last of a classic. They are removing this line upgrading to a Pro three model. Get yours while you can.

Brand New Never Used_Tip Broke "Temple Fork Outfitters Professional Series Fly Rod, TF 03 76-4P 2"
I purchased a Temple Fork Outfitters (TFO) Professional Series Fly Rod, TF 03 76-4P 2 on Amazon on September 26, 2021 and received the fly rod on October 3, 2021 along with a hard case. The Fly rod remained in the hard case until an upcoming trip. On October 9, 2021 I used the fly rod for the first time in Vail, CO nymph fishing. On the 3rd cast (7-10') and the 1st time using the TFO rod, the tip of the fly rod snapped off the rod (See Pics). I contacted TFO (Chris Ralls_Manager) and explained the recent issue with their product. I was told by Chris and according to their policy "TFO's warranty only covers manufacture defects/faulty workmanship TFO does not cover any product broken or damaged due to typical wear and tear, accidents, broken or rusty guides.""If you would like to claim Warranty (defect) please state in your note that you feel it may be a defect."Moreover, I am responsible for the costs to ship back a broken fly rod to TFO only a couple of days after receiving it; which is unacceptable considering this week old fly rod could not stand up to a nymph being casted 7-10'. Also, TFO takes up to 2-4 weeks to determine if the defect was their fault of it was mine. If they determine it is mine (100% not my fault) I would have to pay $45 to have the fly rod fixed. As a small business owner, any product sold to our customers that has a defect is immediately replaced free of charge including shipping because all our products are 100% backed by my company. After fly fishing over 30 years this issue has never happened and I should of purchased a 3wt fly rod from Sage simply because my 9' Sage has been flawless for over 10 years.AR

A great fly rod for the money!
I am a novice when it comes to fly rod casting but I can get 40' distance after only one week of having the rod. I let a good friend with decades of experience test this rod. He said it was a great rod and was comparable to rods that he has that cost two or three times more. Even though he was not familiar with the TFO name, he said that if he needed a new rod he would buy this one.
