I was able to procrastinate for 2 years and finally I had to take some action. I looked at howm to videos on youtube and visited the manufacturers site where I learned this stuff is only good for a year in the can! When I opened it I could see why they say one year, the product separated just like a good oil based paint will. Wondering if I could bring it back to life I bent up a heavy metal coat-hanger into a stir stick and put into my drill and went to work. I also put on my 3M painting mask to keep the fumes from killing me and went to work outside. It took a bit to bring it back to life but this worked and the product worked great! You don't need much hardener and it sets pretty quick but fixed all big holes like a charm and it looks fantastic! I would highly recommend this product and also recommend to use it when you buy it... Our floor was sealed when it was originally laid, but that was 17 years ago. Over the years, the floor has developed various small holes or pits from foot traffic and wet mopping every few weeks. We also have a few cracks that run across a few tiles due to concrete slab movement underneath. We decided to try this product to fill the holes and cracks. For our color of travertine, the product works great and blends in very well. I filled quite a few holes a few weeks ago and I really have to study the floor very carefully to relocate the holes that were filled. The product has a bit of a learning curve in order to get the very best results. Filling small holes with the product is very simple with a putty knife. The larger the hole, the greater the likelihood that you will need to do a two step process involving an initial fill of the hole and a subsequent revisit to the hole to do a final fill that gives a flush finish to stone surface. I found that the product would shrink a bit when used to fill a larger hole. The key to getting clean fill is properly timing the scraping away of the residue after applying the product with the putty knife. Since we are all operating in different climates with different drying rates, I can't really state that you should wait "x" number of minutes. In my climate, letting the product dry 4 or 5 minutes seemed to work the best and allowed the razor blade to most cleanly scrape residue from the stone surface while leaving a smooth fill over the hole. I used it not only for holes in the travertine floor, but also for those pesky small pits. It stabilized a lot of the tiles that had too much wear. However, if sun is shining across the floor, you can see where the areas that were pitted were filled, and it leave a dull patch. It is better for the holes. The buff color is great and blends well. You have to learn to work with it. It drys extremely rapidly, so I only mix a teaspoon at a time with a couple of small drops of the hardener. All in all, it is the best I have found. I deep cleaned, used this product for holes and pits, and resealed.
