And it is. This is by far the best scratch I have purchased and I have tried a lot of different ones. The ingredient list has everything I want and nothing I don,t, there was little to no powder when I transferred it to the treat container.I did take a chance because this did seem expensive but I'm glad I took the chance. The money saved comes from the quality of the product and I don't have to use near as much as I have with other scratches that are on the market. The girls just don't get bored with it at all and eat every last corneal or grain.

This is an incredible product. When I first opened the bag, the scent of fresh grains wafted up to let me know chicken scratch just doesn't come better than this. When I gave it to my girls, they confirmed my opinion. They loved this, and I'm sure they will love the layer feed from Small Pet Select just as much! Bye bye to all the other high quality scratch, layer feed and crumble. I'm sold on this brand.

Loved this chicken feed so much I subscribed to it - it seem my chickens love it as much as I do which is lucky lol - it is so fresh it made me realize how old all the other feed I bought before must be. It doesn’t have all the dust either like other brands I’ve tried (tried about 15 others).A big plus is that the bags are sturdy, easy to open and able to properly seal. No mice got into these bags while I’ve found living mice and their traces in all the other bags.This product had me at organic, non-gmo and sustainable. What more could I ask for my beloved chickens healthy life :)

I like to provide my birds with a great variety of feed and treats. I am constantly trying out new types of feed because there is always some part of it that gets picked over and wasted - - but not THIS! My chickens love this mixture and nothing gets left behind. This is an affordable high quality mix that I will definitely keep in the rotation.

Update- The product seems very fresh and the chickens love it. Subtracting one star because it was shipped without any labeling as in my first review below where I gave it one star.First review -This was the second time I ordered this product which is pictured in a gray bag. That is what I got the first time. This time it is packaged in a clear plastic bag with a tie wrap. No label on it and no note. I don't know if it is what I ordered or not. It looks the same but I wish it was in the same bag with a label, etc.

Our chickens simply love it! Very fresh feed containing no corn or soy. It is somewhat on pricier side but you get what you paid for - high quality with natural ingredients. I like the fact that the ingredients are locally sourced. Packaging is very sturdy.

This is the second time I have ordered this chicken scratch it is definitely my favorite to feed my flock. The chickens love it and I love the whole grains you can easily see. This seems to be a much higher quality scratch compared to what I find at my local feed store. Very happy with my purchase!

I've been buying this fantastic scratch blend for a long time. The last two orders arrived in a box with no bag. That's fine, less plastic packaging I get it. But the quality of the last box was just terrible. Tons of dust, straw pieces, sediment, etc. Up until now I received a super high end clean blend of recognizable seeds, but not the last time. So disappointing. I suppose they will blame it on the dreaded convenient "supply chain" excuse, but I'm really hoping maybe I just got a bad batch. Would have been a 5 star all around if had been the bags of days gone by. We are a nonprofit animal sanctuary, so we spend our money very carefully and this was always purchased as a really special treat, but the quality has deteriorated to such a degree I don't think I can justify trying it again. My chickens are not happy about this development.
