Smell reminds me of Rice Krispies cereal, this must be the chicken version
Impressed by these Small Pet Select Grub Bugs. They’re not stinky at all. Reminds me of the smell of Rice Krispies cereal or human grade cereal in general. I’ve bought many other grubs for our chickens and this one smelled freshly popped.

The only grubs to buy!
My girls have tried many black soldier fly grubs and these are their favorite! They smell fresh - like peanut butter! Strange, I know, but they actually smell like that. I've had dried crickets for them too and they stink! These are great for them and an awesome way to train your girls. I've trained them to come to me when I call them. Useful for many reasons! Highly recommend these. Also a big plus that these are US sourced from a nice family owned company.

Chickens go crazy over it!
The media could not be loaded. My chickens LOVE it! They practically shoved their heads into the bag. Great source of protein and I love that they are sourced in the US.

Best option for Domestic BSF
They're larger in size than GrubBugs, the other company that produces Black Solider Fly Larvae domestically. They also do not stink as badly as other brands. The chickens love them and recognize the bag. Small Pet Select has been a great company to do business with and offers the most reasonable price that I have found yet for these chicken treats.

Stay fresh, very good quality.
These grub bugs are dark colored, heavy but thinner than other brands I have purchased. The way it is packaged, it remained fresh after opening. I really feel I got a quality product for my money. My chickens love them!

My chickens loved this
Black soldier larvae is one of my favorite treats for my chickens as it is healthy and they absolutely go crazy for this stuff. Upon opening the bag, the grub bugs smelled like they normally do, not rancid and no off scents. My chickens went crazy following me around as I carried this bag around.For a pet food products, I guess they may not be required to do any lot numbers, best by, or expiration dates on these? Seeing lot numbers would make me feel better as if they had an issue with their product and needed to recall it or something I know that they are tracking their food products. As to the best by or expiration date, that would provide me with indication of how long this product has been stored and is food for.
