Don't believe all the bad reviews. It's a good kitchen trash can.
So far this is a very good kitchen trash can. Between the steel exterior and the plastic liner can, I believe it's very sturdy. I am concerned about the plastic pedal on the floor, that is pressed to open the can because it is plastic. I hope that part lasts. I believe if it were a thicker, more durable plastic, that was covered with shiny metal, then the metal would help keep the plastic part of the pedal from breaking. But the pedal has not broken for us. If that changes then I'll change my review. But for now, it seems to be a durable can that's well made and is also quite pretty! The price is fair to middle. I was hoping for a little lower price, but then maybe the pretty blue costs more - it's a designer look. It's quite easy to use and the capacity is very good. Others complained about the gift bags that were included. I don't see how it will cause a problem when switching to any 13 gallon size bag. It's exactly the same size as regular 13 gallon bags you get from the grocery store. My step son put a bigger bag in it... It didn't look nice, but it stayed up and collected trash, so that worked for me. But I have 13 gallon bags and we'll use them from now on. I didn't have to purchase special bags for this trash can. It's pretty and I believe it's made well. The lid keeps my Labrador from getting into the trash and that's practical... It's a mix of practical and a pop of pretty navy or dark blue. I'd personally like a shiny surface because it doesn't show dirt easily. But the flat blue (no shine) is very attractive.

All Over Excellent
Durable trash cans/recycle bins that look nice in a kitchen are hard to find at a reasonable cost. These fit the bill entirely. They came quickly, in excellent packing material w/ no cracks or dents in the cans. I ordered two and they came in separate boxes, not stacked. They are true to color and size. They fit flush against a wall/island and don’t stick out too far. The weight is manageable and they will slide across hard surfaces easily. The standard trash bags I use (from Walmart) fit well, although a roll of sturdy bags was included, which I appreciated. The interior is easy to remove to get the bag out and replace it. I find I sometimes have to adjust it so the interior goes in completely so the lid shuts. It’s not a big deal. The pedal is easy to use and the lid opens and closes smoothly. They’re also easy to open w/ your hand. They’re easy to clean w/ a damp cloth. They don’t get dirty looking and best of all, my cats’ nose prints and water splashes don’t show. The cost is appropriate to the quality. I wish I had found these earlier instead of cursing my old ones every day 😂

Ships in rigid box safely, interior can for easy clean out
This trash can is extremely asthetically pleasing but also very functional with an interior closed basket that you can remove and wash out, ensuring smells can be eliminated with proper maintenance. Ships in a very sturdy, rigidly packed box so no denting or artifacts appear upon unboxing. Truly remarkable pleasing matte color to the paint. matches any cobalt or navy/indigo color themed kitchen. Only demerit is attachment of a bag so the liner doesnt show at all. Besides this it is agreat value.

Looks great works great highly recommend
I live alone and I needed a trash can in my kitchen for recyclables. Looked at a lot of different products here online and I decided to go with the SONGMICS though they looked a bit pricey. Needless to say they are worth every penny. Excellent quality, with the insert it's very easy to take the trash out and they look great. Based on my experience you can't go wrong with purchasing this trash can.

Sturdy, handsome, but inner bin absorbs odors
Before I purchased this trash can, which I have now owned for about a year, I did quite a bit of research and it seemed to be among the best performers in its price class. I find that to have held true on most fronts. It's certainly an attractive trashcan. I appreciate that the brand label is unimposing and the lid hides the trash bag effectively and (usually) without much extra effort. The inner plastic liner sometimes needs a little jiggle before it'll settle in the proper position so that the lid actually closes. This trash can has survived a somewhat chaotic move with barely any damage - no dents, maybe one tiny scratch in the outer coating. The pedal still works just as well as on day one. My one complaint is that the inner plastic bin absorbs odors like no other plastic trash can I've ever owned. It has barely even gotten in direct contact with trash, no big leaks, maybe a drop here or there. It will literally absorb the smells through a scented trash bag and hold on to them. Just now I removed a pretty smelly bag of trash and the empty can smells as if the trash was still sitting there - granted, it barely smells when the lid is closed. That I do appreciate. Still, depending on the kind of trash I have and how long it sits there, I have to put the can outside to soak in disinfectant and air out every couple of weeks or months. More often than I think I should have to, considering that the bin itself doesn't even touch trash. At the end of the day, I don't regret my purchase. I didn't want to spend more money and I'm overall satisfied with the quality of the item. I'm willing to do a little more maintenance to have a sturdy and aesthetically pleasing trashcan that will last a good long while. Here's to hoping the pedal keeps holding up.

Functional & beautiful
Like many people these days, I have chosen to do the two-garbage can thing, one for trash and one for recyclables. I personally make way more recyclables than I do trash, and I was tired of seeing brown paper bags sitting around, plus they filled up too quickly, making my pretty foyer not look so pretty. When I found these I thought they’d make a nice-looking replacement for what I had, mostly because of the color (bronze) and the simpleness of the design. There was an issue with the lid not closing properly on one of the ones I ordered, and Amazon made it right immediately. Thank you Amazon. I was not interested in the automatic touchless variety; it’s just one more thing to break and it makes too many dead batteries for the trash. I wanted a very simple step can, in brown, with soft close, and a streamlined look. This can fit the bill. They fit very neatly into the area I placed them (see pic). Bear in mind that these are replacing, as I said paper bags for the recyclables, and a steel step can that was literally 30 years old and still functioning perfect. But it was time to upgrade, and a more rectangular shape rather than the old round one has turned out to be a good idea, and I wanted to give in to a little bit of vanity this time. The soft close is excellent and a welcome change, as I no longer hear the banging of the lid when I let go of the pedal. 13 gallon tall kitchen bags (I use glad brand) Fit this can perfectly. They are just tight enough over the liner lip that they stay put nicely and you only use about a half an inch over the edge, so that when the lid closes it is completely hidden. The shape and the liner basket were critical. Don’t get one of these types of cans unless it has a removable liner basket! I also purchased those tall lawn and leaf paper bags for the recycling can. They haven’t arrived yet but I asked for careful measurements, and I’m pretty sure that with just a small amount of cutting down on the height, they’re going to fit well, and it’ll be nice to just pull the bag out and throw the whole thing in the recycling bin, bag and all. As I said, I owned the steel round step can for over 30 years with no issues. But now that I have had these rectangular cans for about a week, I can tell you that when I went to take out the first full bag of trash I was able to remove it much easier than I have ever been able to remove it out of the round can. The liner basket is slightly smaller at the bottom than it is at the top, and this is probably why it’s so easy to remove a full bag. Also, the rectangular shape makes it easier to put certain objects in that never fit well in the round. While I wanted something that would look good, functionality always comes first with me, so I couldn’t be happier about that. My only caveat is that the old steel round can was obviously quite durable. The steel used on these new cans is a little thinner, but not by much. And I’ve got no destructive toddlers or teenagers in my house that think nothing of banging or hitting something like this and leaving a dent in it. So all in all they are a bit pricey, but I am extremely pleased with these cans. I also purchased stickers off of Amazon to indicate which one is for recycling and which one is for trash, and I’m such a stickler about color use & subtlety that I had to buy two different sticker sets to get what I wanted. The old steel round step can, still working great, is now going in the basement in the laundry area. Reduce, reuse, recycle, repurpose. Words to live by. If you are looking for a simple step can, that functions very well, and looks nice without all the dead battery waste, then this might be the right one for you too.

Great garbage can
I like this trash can quite a lot. It looks attractive in my kitchen because it has a clean and sleek look. It is narrow so it doesn't protrude too far. The size is perfect for me. It is easy to change the trashbags. Easy to open with the foot lever. I also thought it was a reasonable price.
