There appears to be a reasonably good seal when the lid is closed. The reason I only give 4 stars is because the hygrometer was absolutely useless. It showed 60% RH and never moved from that, even during the salt calibration test. It was totally unresponsive. A screw was accessible at the back but it made no difference and, why would it, when the guage did not react to different humidity levels anyway. Also, I wouldn't use the cheap humidifier supplied. And what number on the gauge is optimum?** A: You have to season the wood prior to use (dampen the box with small water, close and leave). You want to aim for 62-63 humidity. For the money, it is worth getting. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Humidor at a Great Price! *by C***S on 16 August 2021* After spending days looking at all the available humidors in this price bracket, I opted for this one and I'm glad I did. It's the perfect size for my needs and is sitting at the perfect, constant humidity. The size is a little smaller than the dimensions on the listing (roughly 24 x 22 x 6.5 cms), but this works just fine for me. For scale, the 9 cigars (stacked 3 deep) on the left in my picture are a ring gauge 38 and 5" long, and the 11 smaller ones on the right are ring gauge 32 and 4" long with plenty of room to stack these 3 deep too should I buy more. This still leaves a little room at the top for a few odd sticks too. So for my size preference, this will easily hold 40 - 50 cigars! Firstly, before using it look up how to season it (YouTube) and buy yourself a brand new sponge and some distilled water to do it with. Secondly, do yourself a favour and throw away the humidifier and hygrometer that come with it. Pretty much all 'cheap' analogue hygrometers are absolutely useless, so buy a digital one. Then rather than use the supplied humidifier, buy a Boveda pack (60g 72%). They're literally a couple of £'s and save a lot of faff! After 2 days my humidor was seasoned, stocked and sitting at a constant 72% humidity!
