Comfortable, Warm, Non Restrictive
Being a former ski racer, I was used to a helmet cut slightly higher in the back to allow for more upward head movement, such as when in a tuck. When I first started wearing a free skiing helmet, I felt constricted with my jacket collar hitting the back of my helmet, and also felt it closed in on my face too much, so I would wear a race helmet instead. Well the time came to replace my old race helmet, so I figured I would try this helmet. I really like how it fits my head, cheeks and back of my neck. I first used this helmet at Loveland Ski Area here in Colorado. We were above timberline close to 13,000ft, its was snowing really hard at times, the winds were really strong and temperatures in the teens at the summit. At no point was my head ever cold, I had great peripheral visibility and I felt as if I could move my head freely. Once back to below timberline in warmer temperatures, I never got hot thanks to the ample ventilation. I skied all day with no discomfort. As far as how well the helmet works on hard sudden impact, I hope to never have to find out.

Great helmet!
For sizing: my daughter is in highschool, about 5' 2" and fairly small (105lbs-ish) and we got her a medium. It was too big! The helmet is supposed to fit snug so if your measurements are similar to hers, get a small! We ended up purchasing the same helmet from a ski shop that had a size small and she loves it. It offers great protection and meets all regulations for alpine ski racing!

Good basic racing helmet, has MIPS!
My son needed a basic helmet for ski racing and this one does the job. The sizing chart is accurate and the Medium that we chose is a perfect fit for his head. The hard section over the ears provides extra protection and warmth and it also comes with a chin guard (optional). His Smith goggles fit well with the helmet. The colors look sharp. Best of all, this has MIPS technology. Highly recommend!
