Microbiome Plus Heart Health Probiotics L Reuteri NCIMB 30242 and Prebiotics scFOS, GI Digestive Supplements, Allergy Safe, Gluten-Free Probiotic Supplement for Men and Women (1 Month Supply)

Ok, I decided to try this out. I read a New York Times article that came out Jan 29, 2019, "Germs in Your Gut Are Talking to Your Brain. Scientists Want to Know What They’re Saying." Lactobacillus reuteri appears to be good for a variety of conditions. There are different strains of L. reuteri, and the one that's been used for some of these conditions is Lactobacillus reuteri NCIMB 30242. I've been researching the journal articles, and found that "a dose as high as 2.9 × 109 colony-forming units (cfu)/day [~3 Billion CFU] was still well tolerated, safe, and efficacious in humans." If you're interested in the scientific research, a lot of it is readily available online; just google for Lactobacillus reuteri. I decided on this brand because it features a gel cap that has ONLY the Lactobacillus reuteri, and it's the correct strain, NCIMB 30242. The dose per capsule is 3 Billion CFU. This one also comes with a tablet that has prebiotics and fiber (not really necessary for the L. reuteri results, but nevertheless beneficial for people with gut problems). You can get the same product with only the L. reuteri if you wish (on Amazon). I was having gut problems and started the L. reuteri yesterday evening. This morning I woke up without gut problems. That's good enough for me to continue with it. I ordered it on Amazon, and it arrived the next day. The product in this case is two parts (two bottles). One bottle has the prebiotic and fiber (tablets, shown in photo). The other bottle has the L. reuteri (gel caps, also shown in photo). I have trouble swallowing hard tablets that are too big, but these are not too big, and the tablet went right down; so did the gel cap. There is no smell, and no taste, and no repercussions after swallowing them. I did not get diarrhea from taking these, or any other noticeable symptom, except that my guts calmed down. This morning I took my second dose (one of each kind) with a little food. I noted that my guts feel pleasantly calm. The benefits are said to be multiple. -- Protects your heart (lower cholesterol levels) -- Boosts your immune system -- Helps Vitamin D circulate in your blood -- Promotes good digestion There are different strains of L. reuteri that have been used in experiments, for different conditions. So, the one I'm using is the one I'm describing, L. reuteri NCIMB 30242. If you research L. reuteri, you want to be aware of the different strains, and not rely on general statements about L. reuteri, just the ones that discuss L. reuteri NCIMB 30242. I will be reporting back after I've had a chance to get some experience with this probiotic, but so far, so good!

The Microbiome Plus+ Gastrointestinal Probiotics came in a box containing 2 bottles. Each bottle contains around 1 month's worth of pills. If you take them regularly, you will notice the benefits as I have. I will say that I have been taking them for around a solid month, my bottles are down to a single pill now and I have noticed quite the difference. I was curious about this because I suffer from irregular bowel movements and have been for as long as I can remember. I have tried multiple times with various products that claimed to "help" but to no cigar. I have only started this a month ago and I can't believe how well this works! I take one pill, twice daily with food and water. It reduced the hellish burden of my bad bowel movements and lessened the pain in my lower intestines. I will admit that it also helped without giving me too much gas. Most "probiotics" I am used to (or have been) would cause me to have such bad gas but this stuff really helped everything I once had in such a short time span. I had no bloating feeling, nor any pain whatsoever. This is really a god sent product. 5/5 -The following rating comes from: 1 star- Packaging. And, if all else fails, can I do something to alternate or change the ability of this negative? All this and more is considered before I post. I do a lot of shopping on Amazon, so I decided to take the liberty to post reviews on items I think deserve it. Because I want people who are genuinely interested to know more about the product before they commit. I was undecided to give this a 3-star or 4-star rating. Price is very reasonable and nutrition panel would lead one to believe this is a great product. While I have nothing negative to say about it, I can't say that I've noticed any real difference in taking this product. I eat very clean, basically a lower-carb paleo-ish diet. However, I continue to suffer from frequent heartburn and bouts of constipation. Naturopathy articles all recommend a good prebiotic/probiotic, so I decided to try it. I have taken probiotics in the past, but not a prebiotic. Perhaps I haven't given it enough time and I need to take it a bit longer along with adding more fermented foods to my diet.

Regarding the problem one customer had about the difference in the two bottles: I had the same question and I contacted the seller. They told me that the two bottles come from two separate providers. I have had to take antibiotics a lot in the last couple of years and was feeling very low energy recently and thought perhaps I needed a probiotic to start restoring my body after all the antibiotics. After a little research I decided to go with this particular system. Within about 4-5 days I actually started feeling a little peppier. Perhaps it is a coincidence, I am not sure. However, I definitely am feeling so much better than I have for a long time. And I truly believe it is this particular combination that has helped me. Not just with energy either as my stomach and digestive issues have also improved. I know that scientifically I should stop taking these to see how I feel after a period of time. To tell you the truth, I don't want to do that yet. Maybe later. But right now I am not rocking that boat because I am tired of feeling lethargic, foggy and slightly nauseated all the time. If I decide to test it, I will update this review but right now. I like it.

I have had digestive issues for years and have undergone surgery to remove my gall bladder in hopes of one day being able to tolerate a normal diet. Neither surgery, diet restrictions, nor medication made it so I could eat a hearty and heathy meal without running to the bathroom minutes after my last bite. I have been 90 pounds for over a year as I am unable to gain weight because of this. These Probiotics changed all of that for me! I have been using them daily for 3 months and I am elated to say I have gained 13 pounds and I have been able to eat 3 square meals a day without upset or incident. The pain is significantly diminished and I feel normal again! These are prayers answered!!!

The good news is, these worked well (meaning, when i forgot to take them i definitely noticed tummy aches and bloating were back) but the bad news is i forgot to take them pretty regularly. The main selling point for me, was that these probiotics supposedly came in blister packs rather than bottles but sadly they did not. I have a really hard time tracking supplements even with pill cases and the convenience of the packaging was why i was willing to pay so much more than one would pay elsewhere for an identical product. Disappointed by the dishonest representation.

I recently learned the importance of balancing the microbiome to improve health and I was introduced to some amazing supplements that heal your microbiome. They are very expensive and so I thought I'd research alternative solutions to save some money. I found the Microbiome Plus on Amazon and was thrilled, this was just what I was hoping to find! I bought all of the products to work together and give me optimal support... The first day I had no energy, by day 2 I was bloated and constipated, on day 3 I was constipated and experiencing explosive, stinky gas and felt lot of abdominal pain and nausea. Needless to say I happily returned to paying more money on products that really are healing my gut and helping me feel amazing. Some things are just worth the money. This product is not.

I am so happy I found this probiotic. I have been having stomach problems for a year and was waiting for a gastroenterologist appointment next month because my Dr couldn't find the cause, after prescriptions and tests. I couldn't go a day without burning in stomach ,nausea,as well as gas, bloating and always feeling uncomfortable. I had been using probiotics for a year and it helped a bit but nothing like these ones. The first few days I had excessive gas and nausea but I felt it was working so I kept on and then 5 days later I awoke with absolutely no stomach problems at all. This is day two and still perfect. I am so excited and happy I will reorder. Thank you for having such a real product that does so much good.

I think the fibre part of it works, as for my microbiome - NFI? Don't think I'd buy again.

This product did nicely improved my health. And I will most likely order more...I had Blasto infection undiagnosed in Canada (Canadian Labs are 300 lighting years behind US labs) and still is lingering for the past 10 years.This product made my life and digestion easier.I would recommend it to all diagnosed with IBS. IBS is underlining symptom of parasitic infection (in my case).

I never had any stomach issues. I started taking this as an over all educated health choice. I have not noticed any over all health changes since I started taking it. Package is exactly as advertised. I will give 3 stars and possibly change it in the future.

Great product, but the claim "1 month supply" is misleading: 56 capsules at the recommended dose of 2/day is not a full month's supply -- unless you ONLY use it in February of non-leap years. It's unfortunate the manufacturer is skimming or trying to "nickle and dime" the customer in such a manner. Include a full 60 capsules as is standard for virtually any health supplement that says "1 month" on its labels.
