While I have found that I have lost a few bristles the first few times I used it, I have lost a few bristles with all of my brushes for about the week or so. This brush is very well made, nice and heavy and very easy to use and hold. The bristles are a bit "pointed but I find it exfoliates my skin quite nicely. I thought it might stop after a few uses, but it did not. I've used it dozens of times and I still find a couple of hairs in the sink when I use it. It's just a matter of time until it's useless. The brush I had previously didn't lose hair like this one does. The first 3 times it turned the lather kind of grey even after using shampoo and conditioner on it for several washes. Also I found it takes more work and more soap to build a leather than my cheap synthetic brush that I was buying this to replace. I switched back to my old brush, though I still use the stand.
