Q: I would like to use this for ir light therapy. does anyone know the surface power density in mW/cm2 and at what distance? At the glass would be ideal

This device is suppose to illuminate up to 300 feet. In practical use it fades to darkness quickly after 120 feet but I was illuminating outside from inside a double pane window. The power at the lense should be calculable. You know the amperage, voltage, and surface area. Power density = A*V / area. For area you can approximate using the housing dimensions or compute the lense surface area of one LED then multiply that by 114. I would suspect the light intensity attenuates based on the natural log. Therefore, you can compute the approximate intensity at any station from the source. I would postulate the attenuation formula something like multiplying the power density by an attenuation ratio. Design the ratio such that it is 1 at the unit and 0 at the maximum station. Q: WHat are the dimensions?

BTW it glows red and illuminates well. The red glow acts as a deterrent. Reviewed on video, my truck was jimmied open but the bad guys looked up at the unit, pointed, saw the glowing red lights then ran.

Q: Has anyone tried using this outside or inside aimed ou of glass doors with indoor camera aimed at door? regular outdoor lights work but need more..

if your camera doesnt have IR illuminators built in, you have 2 issues. #1, the camera probably wont have the type of censor that can read infra red, if so they usually build the IR lights in a ring around the lens. #2 if your camera DOES have the IR ring, it will reflect off the window. same with this unit. Using an IR light against glass usually never works.

Q: Is this compatible with the Q-See 600 Line cameras....their LED's light up red at night too?

none of these answers are correct. many cameras DONT use 850nm wavelength. I think most QC cameras DO use 850. I have 1080 p bullet cameras from QC and 850nm works perfectly.
