Hi, yes it can be used for normal computer use. We use it as a touch screen for a lighting desk.

I need a large, portable monitor to take to meetings to plug into my small laptop, to make presentations easier for clients to see. will this do that?

Yes, this monitor will perform that function, However unlike some other portable monitors which are USB powered and can be connected to a laptop via a single USB cable, this monitor requires both a monitor cable connection to the Laptop and it's own power supply plugging into wall socket. The monitor is supplied with the power adaptor in the box.

Does this product have an android operating system, so can beused as a very large tablet? Does it switch from portrait to landscape when rotated?

No, it's a monitor and needs to be plugged in via HDMI etc to display, and USB for the touch interface
