Wonderful Seller and Product
there was a small glitch with my order and I contacted the seller and they immediately responded and went above and beyond and quickly sent me extra lighters to make my purchase extremely nice. I would highly recommend them. These are great lighters also. Highly recommend this seller!

Adjustable flame
I like the Scripto electronic lighters better than the Bic, since the flame on the Scripto is adjustable, not so on the Bic.Reasonable price.

Does not work with antique LongLight wand system. Buy newer products instead and retire your LongLight wand
Bought these because they appeared to be the SCRIPTO PIEZO ELECTRIC lighters that were originally used with the old LONGLIGHT wand system, which was designed as a classy sort of extension wand to light fireplace logs, etc.Unfortunately, they do not work out of the box with LONGLIGHT. They are the same basic lighter, but the ignition switch was deliberately and extensively re-engineered so that it does not work with LONGLIGHT.I had to do some extensive research on what the engineering change was and why Scripto made the engineering change. Scripto was bought out many years ago by another company and the company web site and customer service department are absolutely of no use in my research. Probably deliberately so, for their own legal reasons.1. Scripto changed the design of the Pietzo (electronic) lighter ignition button in order to deal with a child safety issue that arouse through a Consumer Product Safety Commission when some child got a hold of the lighter and caused a fire.I believe that the parents sued Scripto.2. In order to deal with the issue, Scripto apparently re-engineered the lighter ignition button to comply with Consumer Product Safety Commission rules and make it difficult for children to use the lighter.The newer ignition button design has a rounded shape and a spring loaded, clear plastic safety lever within the button which prevents ignition of the lighter unless the user is intelligent enough and has the dexterity to disengage the safety lever and depress the ignition button simultaneously.Unfortunately this revised design is not compatible with the LongLight system that relied upon the original lighter design from Scripto.3. The LongLight system used brass metal bands to manipulate the ignition button and make the lighter function, and held the lighter in place with a thin metal plate that wrapped around the lighter, forming a "cartridge" that fit tightly into the LongLight wand.The re-engineered rounded ignition button and the spring loaded safety lever on the lighter will not engage on the reengineered lighter. This prevents the lighter ignition button from behind depressed, preventing butane gas release flow and generation of a piezo electric spark -- causing the brass metal bands to slip off of the ignition button without generating any spark, gas or flame.3. The newer lighters do not work with the LongLight system unless both the lighters and the LongLight system are modified.This obviously would qualify as an unauthorized customer modification to both products which would violate all lighter and wand product warranties, and the company that bought Scripto is understandably not about to tell you how to "MacGyver" either product to make them work together.Bottom Line:If you have the antique/vintage LongLight system from the 1980s, and if you plan to have any kids around your place, it is probably smart if you don't buy these lighters and don't try to MacGyver a fix that will bypass safety features.The engineering change to the ignition switch was done for legal and safety reasons, and should be respected for those reasons. Children do have an amazing capacity to figure out ways to do extremely dangerous things when they are not under adult supervision, and the potential of a child starting a fire is nothing to mess around with.Diamond, Coghlans and others make long-reach lighters and wands that can be used to light fireplace logs, for camping stoves, for old coleman lanterns, etc, and they have a better, more modern design with safety features. They are available at WalMart, Target and many other stores as well as over the Internet at a price that is less than or comparable to the cost of these lighters, and you won't have to modify anything or run the risk of home fires.

using these can be difficult
sure there is no painful ridged wheel to spin like other lighters, but the trigger is difficult to push down so I need both thumbs to do that
