"Hawaii Five-0" Season 2 is filled with action-packed and suspenseful episodes.
When the all-new “Hawaii Five-0” premiered on CBS six years ago, it quickly established itself as a worthy successor to “Hawaii Five-O,” its 1960s-70s predecessor. The show’s premise essentially remained the same both series, although the characters in the new show all received 21st century updates. In both shows, a team of special investigators, appointed by Hawaii’s governor, tackles the mission of solving the toughest and most high profile criminal cases. Steve McGarrett (Alex O’Loughlin) leads the “Five-0” team, assisted by Detective Danny Williams (Scott Caan), Honolulu police lieutenant Chin Ho Kelly (Daniel Dae Kim), and rookie police officer Kono Kalakaua (Grace Park).“Hawaii Five-0’s” second season gets off to a rip-roaring start as the Five-0 team deals with the cliffhanger left over from the Season 1 finale. Twenty-two action-packed and suspenseful episodes follow. They include: “Kame’e (The Hero,)” where Five-0 investigates the murder of a Navy SEAL; “Pahele (Trap)”, where the team takes on a gang of drug dealers that are holding a school bus full of students hostage, while demanding the return of a large shipment of cocaine seized by the police; and “Pa Make Loa (Touch of Death),” the first half of a two-part cross-over episode with “NCIS: Los Angeles,” in which Five-0 joins forces with NCIS a desperate search for a bio-terrorist with vials containing the smallpox virus.“Hawaii Five-0’s” scripts are very well written; most often they combine healthy doses of character-driven crime drama and generous dollops of technology-driven police procedural. Season 2 delves deeper into the personal lives of each main character. McGarrett and Danny continue their constant light-hearted and friendly squabbles, adding a touch of humor to the show. McGarrett mysteriously disappears for a time, leaving the team to investigate some cases on its own. Danny draws closer to his ex-wife, even though she is now remarried to a wealthy business executive. Both Chin Ho Kelly and Kono Kalakaua find themselves slowly sucked into separate police corruption scandals. As “Hawaii Five-0’s” second season clearly demonstrates, here is a show that brings the very best its predecessor had to offer - an original concept, excellent story lines, and Hawaii's magnificent scenery - and transforms them all into a modern-day viewers’ delight. Highly recommended.

Great season, great DVDs, looking forward to season three!
I'm sure I'll eventually buy every season of this show from Amazon. I loved watching the second season this month, as much as the first season last month, and was planning all month to get the third season this month, but at the last minute decided to get the second season of Kojak instead. Ive watched that first season of that lollipop sucker for too many years. I've got atleast 50 series on DVDs (by far mostly from Amazon), and that's all I watch on my TV anymore. So I missed the TV airing of the new Hawaii five o, but thought I'd take a chance on it, and am glad I did. It's now one of my favorite shows. Last month I watched that second season twice, and the disks are in perfect condition. No doubt next month I'll get the third season from Amazon, and maybe also the fourth.

Hawaii Five-0, A Show-Stopper
If you haven't watched Hawaii Five-0, then you're missing out on something really great. I couldn't resist buying the first four Seasons and I have not regretted it once. There are so many special episodes. I love all the characters; not only are the men strong but the women are, too. They all work so well together and bring those excellent stories together. The writing is fabulous and I enjoy the humor that's interjected and also the holidays they celebrate. The "history" lessons are great, too; they make the show even stronger. I have enjoyed watching the guests, famous stars who will be remembered again because they performed beautifully on Hawaii Five-0. (I hope Carol Burnett makes another appearance before she "dies.") I'd like very much to see Michelle Borth remain a permanent member of their elite force. And how can one not enjoy seeing Hawaii, Oahu in particular. I visited that Island about six years ago and have been wishing to return. Now I have, vicariously through watching Hawaii Five-0. The scenery is breathtaking and interesting. Not to mention educational. Everything about the show should make one want to tune in every week to watch it. And if you've missed it from the beginning and would like to catch up, don't forget the DVDs you can purchase as I did. (Hint: they make great gifts!)

I am in love with Hawaii Five-0!
After the Season 1 finale cliff hanger, I was wondering how the Five-0 team would all be put back together, but it was definitly a fun ride. Alex O'Loughlin is still the perfect Steve McGarrett. He is so good at playing the intensity and focus that would go along with being a Navy Seal, but he also ROCKS the action sequences (doing most of his own stunts) and the emotional scenes. (He is so cute with Danny's daughter Grace.) Danny (Scott Caan) is always there for some comic relief. In fact, one of my favorite episodes of the season was when his dad, James Caan, guest starred in the episode 18th "Lekio" as Tony Archer. Their banter was great! Chin Ho and Kono are still great as well. And I love Masi Oka as Dr. Max Bergman!New to the cast this season are Commander Joe White (Terry O'Quin), McGarrett's former SEAL trainer and mentor; former Homeland Security/FBI agent Lori Weston (Lauren German), who is supposed to "babysit" the unorthodox Five-0 team for the new Governor, and former CIA analyst Jenna Kaye (Larisa Oleynik), who is trying to find out if her CIA agent fiance is still alive. Hawaii Five-0 just keeps getting better!

Book em Danno
McGarrett is in jail framed for the murder of the Governor of Hawaii while the rest of the team work to free him. Following on from where season 1 left off, resolving the cliffhanger from the end of season 1, this sees the elite federal task force Hawaii Five 0 team go after the island's most vicious and dangerous criminals. A lot of fun to watch though truth be told it bares little resemblance to the original 60's 70's classic original cop show apart from character names and the infamous instantly recognisable theme tune turning the series from police procedural crime drama into a full on action show. The regular cast lead by Alex O'Loughlin as the new Steve McGarrett and Scott Caan as the new Danny Danno Williams are excellent with a fun macho bromance between the two characters and lots of male testosterone even with the female characters. It's very macho and action packed with some terrific action. Scott Caan as Danno does come off a bit like the clichéd over protective father to his young daughter Grace but this is still one of the best action shows on TV. There's also a crossover episode with NCIS Los Angeles in this set and a cliffhanger ending sets up season 3.

Sun, sea and super storylines
More explosive but glamorous adventure is to found by watching the 50 team do their thing in procedural episodes, as well the more story arc heavy ones.Again we have the brilliant carguments between McGarrett and Danno, as well as the snappy dialogue throughout each episode. I particularly love the little asides that are thrown in like Danny saying to a suspect who is lying on the ground tied up and wriggling 'where are you going ?' In the context of the scene it was really funny. My only criticism of this is the high body count, I know this is an over the top action series, but I hate seeing so many people shot. In reality if so many people were to die during each take down, surely there would be endless internal enquiries and maybe dismissals on the team. Yes I know this is fictional so I try to ignore it, I am just saying I don't like it.For me my favourite episodes are those that heavily feature Dr Max Bergman and Kamekona. For example the story that involves Kamekona losing his van I love the suspect list he gives Danny Williams, especially the disgruntled looking customer wearing a shirt with Metallica on it. I wish we saw more of these characters. There are also some of the most amazing stunts I have ever seen. For instance a plane that crashes between a surfer on the ocean's surface and a boat nearby who is trying to pick him up. I literally held my breathe and also the stunt that takes place in the air when a parachutist is literally falling out of the sky. Stunning and I am not really into action stuff but I had to watch both twice they were so impressive. The stunts on this show are breath taking and so imaginative. I also loved the Hawaiian LARPING scene.Overall apart from some out of place story lines that involve temporary team members, this is so watchable, it is hard to stop once you start.

High five for Five-O
Having watched the original Five-O in the 60's-70's, I wondered if this revamp would be as good. I shouldn't have worried as this series is far superior and gutsier. A lot of the stories have a common link which helps to give the series a feeling of completenessre: Wo Fat etc. The production is excellent and on a par with a lot of this type of American series such as the CSI's so if you like those then you won't be disappointed. They have made the relationship between Steve and Danny a bit more chalk and cheese so while they can rub each other up the wrong way the mutual respect for each other grows through each series. All in all a great action series that you can enjoy more than once. We already saw this on tv but enjoyed it so much we bought the first 3 seasons when we saw them at the right prices. Recommended if you like this sort of thing.

Second series even more awesome than first
Second series even more awesome than first. Is there anything Mcgarret can't do; dives out of aeroplanes, flies aircraft, combat ace - never misses. Can't imagine how they get away with breaking every law in the book in their pursuit of the 'bad guys', even with supposed 'carte blanche'. Not complaining, works for me but I wish Kono would stop looking like she's going to burst into tears every time something goes wrong. Love the banter between Mcgarret and Danno. Great stories and the carry over to 3rd series is just as enticing as the carryover from the 1st series. Definitely getting it if I can catch my breath between series.Best action series around and the Hawaiin scenery is a great bonus. Having James Caan in one of the episodes was brilliant (is he Danno's real life Dad?) More please, I'm hooked!!

Action focused, scenic US television
I got this as my husband enjoyed season one. Much of the same in season two. Lots of lovely scenery, beautiful people and action packed episodes. It is not to be taken seriously but is good fun and the music and scenery remind me of the original. There is lots of the same type of inter-team bickering that featured in season one and I have to admit that Scott Caan still irritates me but the stories hang together well and other characters are allowed their moments too. There is an interesting cross over with NCIS LA and the episode is shown from both teams points of view. I enjoyed this episode as it added a new dimension to the series.Looking forward to series three.
