(hope that made sense). Or if u want it simpler, it measures the first 10 black lines on the inch side of a ruler. The reason I'm being technical about that is because I was unsure of how long each measurement was, so I had to guess. I ordered this for a smiley piercing (skin Web connecting top lip to gums) and I wanted the smallest gauge in eyebrow rings possible. 18G was the smallest I could find anywhere. It's lightweight and thin, and I hope the metal wears well in my mouth (if not I'll update). I ordered it on the shorter side so it wouldn't touch my teeth and possibly damage them. It came a day earlier than estimated delivery date, and I'm very happy the bar is thin. There's so many different piercings you can use this ring for. I'd recommend to anyone for a smaller gauge piercing, and someone whose freshly piercing, because surgical steel is the best jewelry for a new piercing and the healing process. I also ordered a 16g needle to pierce it with, and either the needle was really 18g or this ring is a 16g, but the ring did not fit into the hollow needle. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I bought these for my Rook piercings *by R***A on February 27, 2013* These were just what I needed for my Rook piercings. They seem well made. I'd prefer only one ball screwed off but they both do.I had a hard time getting them in my ears because the type of piercing makes it hard to get them in, not the earrings fault however.When it's time to replace these, I hope to find them in white gold. Other then that, great for Rooks when you don't want snaggly hoops.This is the 3rd one I've bought. These are great for rook piercings. One I lost because I did not tighten enough, my fault.
