Bootstrap Farmer 1020 Shallow Microgreen Trays are built to end that cycle. Constructed in the USA from extra-thick one point eight to two millimeter, food-safe, BPA-free number five polypropylene, these trays withstand repeated use. The rigid structure supports the full weight of saturated growing media without bending or breaking, allowing you to move trays with confidence. A one and a quarter inch shallow depth simplifies harvesting, allowing cuts closer to the root mat to increase yield weight. These trays are compatible with all standard 1020 equipment and are available with or without drainage holes to suit your bottom-watering or top-irrigation system. Stop replacing trays. Review: Very good trays - My order was DOA as the bottom few trays were cracked. There was no visible damage to the outside box, so I'd say that it's 20% shipper's fault and 80% seller's fault. The packaging doesn't prevent the trays from cracking or disintegrating on impact. With that said, it's not reasonable to expect plastic trays to be indestructible. These are the single most sturdy trays I have used. They are extremely easy to handle thanks to the thick PP construct. I never get the feeling that the tray would twist or fold. Stacking is also much better when the top tray needs some extra weight. The weight distribution is a lot more even, again, thanks to the "extra strength" construct as marketed. The shallow tray also makes it easier to harvest microgreens. I think I'm switching mostly to the shallow trays once I get a chance to try out the trays with no holes. Now I just wish they would make 10x10 shallow trays, preferably without holes:-D Niche crops really don't need 1020 and 5x5 is only good for decoration.

Good quality will last many seasons. Happy with my purchase although they're not inexpensive compared to other flimsy trays out there. Invest wisely in Bootstrap or replace your flimsy trays every couple years, it adds up!
