Expanding upon the female archetypes of Maiden, Mother, Wild Woman and Crone, this book offers us 13 archetypes, three pertaining to each of the former, each expanding/growing from the one before, and a 13th, called the Transformer, that works between them all. The book is laid out so that two archetypes from across the circle are compared in each chapter allowing us to see the differences as we cycle through them each month and each year... until we reach menopause when we then give birth to ourselves in our truest form where we are then adept at experiencing and expression any type at any time, regardless of the season or phase of moon. This book is amazing. The info is so supportive to the natural cycles women go through from daughter through beyond crone. Whereas most use the triple - maiden, mother and crone, this gives twelves phases of a woman's life and how to draw off our own archetypes during specific needed times in our lives. I wish I would have had a mother, sister, anyone who had even half of this information for me as I was in my growing years. It's a truly remarkable book - not so easy to find either - probably because it's so great!

I have read and re read this book. Wonderful book for women doing personal journey work to discover who they are and who they can be.

This Book is fantastic. It gives women the information we all so need in terms of establishing and harnessing our power at various stages of our life cycles. This book is a must for any woman in touch with her inner being it will shed light on aspects of the self you never knew you had.Great read and essential information for all women.

I'm so glad I bought this. I had often thought about my life in the archetypes of maiden/mother/crone, but this book takes that rhythm and makes so much more of it. It's a personality theory of a woman's life, which is much different from the cycles of life traditionally identified by our culture. It's lovely.

I read this as a library book several years ago. So glad to have my own copy now. Planning a workshop series with friends to consider, to make commitments to our daughters not to fall asleep again, not to surrender our deep knowing.

The archetypes and awareness in these pages has been a guide post for me for years. I have given away copies to women who really need them and in turn continually replace them. Every woman should have one.

I liked the in-depth descriptions of women's archetypes. This book was very helpful for me, on a spiritual and emotional level, as it gave me great compassion for myself and where I am in my life, as I have a tendency to compare myself to others who are 'better' than me at certain things but now I see that it is because we are at different phases of the wheel.I recommend this book to women who are on a 'soul searching' path and need some guidance as to where they are on their path.

Such an interesting read. The phrasing of ideas I have heard before are so unique and cause me to stop and think deeper. I'm really enjoying it. A great read for any woman who is curious about the cycles/phases of their growth and maturity.
