I just adjust my poses to be less aggressive in the lateral forces. Sometimes I step off of the mat for more aggressive poses, which also seems to help for the balance poses (less spongy surface). Mostly I just need the matt for knee cushioning. I also wipe down my matt after each use, with a mild cleansing wipe (like Open Nature Cleansing Wipes). After about 2 years of use, 3 times a week, the surface is slightly more dull and there seems to be less slippage than when new. **Q: Does this mat have the same guarantee that ProLite has? Does anyone know if it crumbles or is shredded easily after some use?** A: From the Manduka website: "Manduka guarantees the Manduka PRO®, PROlite® and PRO® Travel yoga mats to last the lifetime of the mat, if used and cared for properly." It appears that only those three types of mat are guaranteed for 10 years. **Q: Any advice for making it more grippy?** A: After 2 years of 3 times a week use, and cleansing wipes after each use, the surface is slightly less slippery.
