Marvel Studios Captain Marvel

I watched this when it first came out and then it disappeared from the streaming services (unless you paid extra). When I spotted this on Amazon, I bought it and watched again. It's not the finest script but as it features one of Marvel's most famous characters and for once has a female lead, it's good fun and light years better than a lot of the testosterone-driven dialogue that can make other Marvel films so predictable. Get the popcorn out, sit back and enjoy.

Good movie and good acting like it 👌

Another Marvel comics movie. This is a prequel to all the others because it takes place back in the 1990's, so you can actually watch it without needing to have seen anything else. On the vague off chance that anyone hasn't of course. You never know. But as with all good prequels it does give the added bonus of those who have seen the films set afterwards of the chance to spot things that you know will turn out to be important.This begins well away from Earth, as the humanoid alien race the Kreel continue their war with the nasty shape shifting Skrulls. Kree warrior Vers [Brie Larson] is having troubling dreams. And can never quite win training fights with her superior.But when her life takes an unexpected turn, she finds herself heading for Earth. Looking for answers. And the ones she finds are more surprising than she could have imagined...It's an origin movie for the character. Thus it fills in all the background, gives them villains to fight, and leave things set up for a sequel. It does take a few minutes to get going because there's a few things to set up and fill in. But once she's on Earth, it really moves.It is a pretty clever script story wise, as it does have a great deal of twists and turns and narrative rug pulls. It does have a great 90's setting, and one of Samuel L. Jackson's best performances as we see a Nick Fury younger than we're used to. There are some excellent action sequences as well.Empowerment? It just says that you should stand up for yourself and be tough. It's not a message it throws in your face, nor is it one that is exclusively feminist. It's something that anyone can take heart from. Too bad the trolls will be too wound up to realise that.And cat lovers will love this film to bits.Just not quite five stars though, because even by the end of this whole origin thing, Captain Marvel is still a bit of a blank slate, and there's still a bit of work to be done with the character. But it will leave you wanting to see what she does - immediately - next.Good fun entertainment from a studio that is good at producing such.Do of course watch to the very end of the credits.The disc begins with the Marvel introductory logo, but you can skip it via the next button on the dvd remote.Language and subtitle options;Languages: English. German, Turkish. English audio described.Subtitles: Danish, Finnish, German, Norwegian, Swedish, Turkish.It is of course a Disney dvd, so you know what that means. As it has for so long now. No extras whatsoever at all.

Ever since I was collecting Marvel Comics from School Days to-date, I always jumped with joy when I discovered Captain Marvel and would relish reading through the comic to find out which baddie she is going to teach a lesson to. Now, finally, I will get a chance to see her on dvd. I saw the trailer for this wonderful movie on just recently and had already decided I want to buy her dvd. The cover is beautiful and I just know the movie is going to be very enjoyable. Thank you very much, Amazon!.

Great film, would definitely recommend.

Nobody buys DVDs today so you can get them really cheaply and sell them, on cheaply once you have finished with them. This one is a good fantasy film. Part of the Marvel Universe.

I'm a Marvel universe fan. I loved the "cat" companion.

Esta edificón LO VALE, así es como las películas deben ser en el formato físico, con su funda de cartón, y en las versiones en que salió. El 3D en esta película es excelente, pero lo mejor todavía, y creo que es el detalle más importante de esta edición es que RESPETA LO FILMADO EN IMAX.Las escenas en IMAX fueron respetadas, y se llena la pantalla cuando éstas pasan y se ve muuuy bien en 3D, vale cada centavo y con el formato físico en peligro gracias a las plataformas de streaming (peor todavía para formato 3D) es una adición necesaria para toda biblioteca de películas en 3D

No lleva audio en castellano el disco 4k solo latino de América y el bluray no lleva audio ni español ,ni castellano. .por lo demás se puede ver en inglés con sub latino.
