Exactly what I needed for my 2016 BMW R1200RS. They would work for any BMW R1200/R1250 water-cooled motorcycle engine. They are the correct diameter, 8.9 mm, and the same range of thicknesses as BMW supplies, 1.72 mm to 2.6 mm, but come in 0.04 mm increments rather than the 0.02 mm increments which the BMW parts come in. However, given that both intake and exhaust valves of the R1200 water-cooled engines have a 0.07 mm difference between min and max clearance, you can always get back within spec using a shim from this set.

I service all my bikes. Part of this is because of bad experiences with dealerships, and of course cost. Sometimes you have to buy special tools, but invariably they pay for themselves. I bought these shims for my BMW R1250GSA. They are the same diameter as OEM. However, the selection is limited between thicknesses. The range of thicknesses is pretty big, but they jump a fair amount between each sizes. I also verified the indicated thicknesses using a micrometer and they are a little off. Obviously not much, but for my purpose I used the thinnest of the set of three that comes for each thickness. So yes, they work, but I wish they had more thicknesses available on a smaller range of selections.

Someone asked what the size interval is. It is .04mm. So you'll have a 1.80mm and then next 1.84mm then 1.88 then 1.92 etc.
