Stop reading these reviews and buy this amazing light!!!
No question these (I bought two) are amazing. I saw many reviews on youtube. None answered my questions as a Photographer using them for photography (not videography). I wanted them for darker venues so that I can add a little light for focusing and overall quality. I have a wedding in 3 days so I will try to follow up on this review. What I can say from testing this light out over the last two days is: 1) They are super bright. I cannot explain what that means in a way that you could get a proper understanding but they are super bright. 2) Great quality build. Yes they are plastic but they feel solid for their size. 3) These are small lights. I don't say that as a bad thing I just thought they were going to be bigger. They are really small and I love that. I chose them over the big square ones because they just don't look right to me. Looking for more of a stage production type feel not a random square light. So the small size makes them even more appealing to me as they will just sort of blend in as a spotlight of sorts in the room. 4) Three different ways to power this little light. External lithium battery, (6) AA batteries, DC Power supply. So overall a great light. If I had to ask for one thing, I would love to have a remote so that I can make adjustments while the light is up. I can see now that I will need to know where I want the settings to be before I put it up because it will suck to keep lowering the light to change power levels. Now the most important question I had was how long would AA batteries last. I use AA batteries for all my camera gear (I try to only buy gear that uses AA batteries so that everything works together). I have tested both my lights over the last three days. I put in fresh batteries and turned the 3200K and 5500K lights up to full power. I then simply timed it until I could see a noticeable difference in the output. The verdict... 1 Hour. I tested this three different times. Twice with both lights at the same time and once using just one light. So essentially I tested this five times. Each time the light would be very bright for a solid hour, then they would take a significant dip in output. For my purposes (extra light during a ceremony) this is still great. If I am using it for specialty lighting at a reception I may need to try out the lithium battery to see how much more time I would get out of the light. Or I will just need to plug it up. One thing to note, is that you can check the battery level on the back of these lights. The problem is that when using the AA batteries they would go from full power, ten dots, to only one dot in only a few minutes. The light output would still be very bright but the power left in the batteries was very deceiving since it would still shine at full power for another 45 min. Not sure if that was because I was using the AA batteries but definitely something to keep in mind.

Great lights for wedding videographer
As a wedding videographer I was looking around for lights to light up receptions , when I first heard about these lights i was very skeptical because people claimed they were bright and I doubted If it was really that bright.. BEFORE I CONTINUE ANY FURTHER I MUST SAY THIS LIGHT FOR THE PRICE IS BRIGHT VERY BRIGHT. Also something that surprised me and pleased me greatly was the size this thing is SMALL which is perfect I already log around a ton of gear on a wedding day the last thing I need is to add heavier lights these are just perfect size. I use a larger size Sony NPF battery and on full blast it lasts me a long time. The color accuracy is pretty good. *REMINDER MAKE SURE TO USE CORRECT WHITE BALANCE ** the included barn doors is also nifty. The build quality is good it’s mostly plastic but it feels steady and durable. I like how u can change the brightness More precisely . However this has no LCD SCREEN so u won’t know exactly what number it is on I love these lights however just a few buggy things which are not detrimental and is more nit picking, I wish there is a more precise transition from 3200k-5200k. Also at a certain point the fan will kick on, and it’s not the loudest fan and depending how close it is to u might be able to hear it. But compared to my other lights the fan noise Honestly should not be an issue. Besides these few caviars i WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT FOR THE PRICE AND THE VALUE.. FOR 55 you can get a great light that you can use as a spotlight to light your wedding receptions both INDOOR AND OUTDOOR.

AMAZING! HAS SERVED MY BUSINESS WELL FOR HALF A YEAR!
Absolutely love this light. Don't normally make reviews this long, but i had to for this light. The size and shape is perfect! Very portable and versatile. Great light output. I have owned it since December 27th 2017 and have used it for coporate videos, wedding receptions, and even in my front and backyard when hanging out with my friends at night and want some extra light for sports and stuff. 1. versatile and bright 2. color temp adjustable 3. buy a BIG Sony npf battery and it lasts for hourssss at a time 4. buy a cheap(or expensive) light stand and it is greatttt 5. The blue, red, orange (gel) color changing things are pointless and have very poor colors, but I don't care about that 6. LOVE IT! The size is seriously perfect and it creates a nice backlight glare for wedding receptions. 7. It isn't the highest quality lighting, but for the price and what I've gotten out of it...it's AMAZING. I think I'm gonna buy another one. JUST DO IT!

Light weight, multiple power options
Nice, fairly compact light that is plenty bright enough for lighting many scenes or for adding colored effects. I like the multiple power options (DC in, NP-F lithium and AA) and the tripod mount. I don't find the barn doors too useful, but they are easily remove. Just give them a good twist and the ring they're mounted on will come off.

Great Light at a Great Price
This is the third one I've purchased. The light itself is unbelievably bright and versatile, albeit a bit spotty, i.e., the range isn't quite as wide as a speedlight, but close enough, and equally bright, in my tests. The 216 refers to the number of LEDs, half tungsten, and half daylight. You can adjust both, either "course" (quickly), or "fine" (in detail). The CRI is very high, rated 90+, and there's no color shift. In addition to lashing one of them on my DSLR for videos, I use them for effects and enhancements. This light even fits neatly under the (threekings) extension arm on a DJI Osmo, with no effect whatsoever on the gimbal. The reflective barn doors are a bit puzzling, but no matter, the YN-216 is a great light, at a great price. I'll probably purchase another one.

Great item for starting out
I purchased this item after watching a detailed breakdown of various LED lights on YouTube and seeing some reviews from wedding photographers who recommended the product as a great low-cost option. Seeing photos of it in use really sold me on it, noting how bright and how inconspicuous this product really is. I love it. I will update this with photos of my own when I have some good ones that really show how powerful this thing is. The battery release is also really easy, and I can leave this thing running on high for hours without using hardly any battery life. Note: The barndoors are not as great at shaping light as some other options might be--they are shiny so it just reflects the light elsewhere; but you can always modify them to your needs with some gaff tape to absorb more light.

Great quality light. The YN216 pro.
This is a great light, small, very few holes in it for bugs, to crawl in outdoors. Not weather resistant but far better than a lot of panel lights, a bit of tape and some plastic and you can make it work on a tripod in moderate damp. Very bright two levels of adjustment, coarse and fine, fine gives you smaller steps in light brightness. Can fit on camera, I used some Oly OMD's, bright, light up a 40-60 yard, into trees, allows contrast enough to focus. Nice tripod screw mount in metal flash plate, can screw it right to a quick release. Shut down with diffuser on it with one barn door open on top, you can use it as a macro light with a little bounce, yeah its bulky, but best I have tried so far for shooting into tree tops. Other flashlights, focusing LED lights, white to red LED, can be a help in the woods at night.

Design Team: Try Harder
Fair-priced, light weight low budget LED for student or indie crowd. Great that it takes very common battery. It can come handy on run and gun shoots with low light cameras, but exposed LED bulbs prone to creating unwanted multiple shadows , noisy fan(unusable in sync sound environment), useless barndoors and less than ideal control methos makes it not a useful tools. Well I tried to put it to use once but just the quality of light next to better made units kept this in a bench. Now a month passed and a seller is not accepting returns. If you just want something you can throw some output on the fly for cheap, this is not the worst choice. There are brighter lights for cheap but the build quality and CRI seem much worse.
