MCAT Complete 7-Book Subject Review 2020-2021: Online + Book + 3 Practice Tests (Kaplan Test Prep)

If you are seeking a career in medical cuz you can handle all the blood and such... which is so NOT me!! lol, then you will want to get this set! My son took the MCAT recently, cuz he is one of those people, and these were VERY HELPFUL!! You can never had too much insight for a big test like this, right?! Who doesn't want all the help they can get?! These really helped prepare him. Phew!

I was a little skeptical to buy these because some photos showed that the books got messed up during printing and others were having difficulty accessing the online materials. However, I did a lot of research and read many helpful reviews (as I suggest anyone buying this should do as well) and after receiving the books, I am very satisfied with my purchase overall.Yes, some of my books did come with printing errors where there are just random blotches of ink stains on the pages. However, it was really not that bad and did not make it difficult for me to study the material at all. Also, following some very helpful instructions from an awesome review on here, I was able to access the online material for up to a year. So yes, these books do come with online material as well.I have been through 4/7 books so far (inorganic/organic chemistry, biology, and biochemistry) and believe that the price I paid for this set was well worth it. (As a side note, please be aware that these books/online material alone will not guarantee that you get a high MCAT score, so please also look for other resources to help you study.)

Very happy with the books. They came in good condition and are pretty easy to follow. Pictures and diagrams are put throughout the book to help visualize the information and quizzes are also put at the end of big sections to ensure that you were able to capture the information.I almost did not consider buying these books since some other reviews suggested it did not seem it came with the online content; however, I am very glad that I did buy it. To access the online content, you must follow the instructions actually inside the book. (The information on the cover is misleading) The cover says to go to kaptest.com/moreonline. However, inside, it says to go to kaptest.com/booksonline. Once you go to this second link, you scroll down and click "register" next the the 7-subject MCAT review book. From here, they ask for your name, email address, and then they ask you for a very specific word in the book. It's pretty random such as "in the biochem book, what's the last word in the last paragraph on page 47) *disclaimer, that is not the question it asked me, it's just an example* From here, it has you do a 2 hour diagnostic test to see where you are at. The online content also comes with 3 full length MCAT tests.I have yet to take the MCAT, but these books are already making me feel less overwhelmed now that I have a "plan." :)

Yes, the books are very dense, but if you can go through them and take notes on the most important concepts, you will be more prepared for the MCAT. Personally, I read or at least skimmed through all of the books while taking notes on the key concepts. After each chapter, I would do the end-of-chapter questions which helped solidify concepts, however, these questions were often much harder than to be expected on the MCAT. But this isn't necessarily a bad thing.I spent about 3 months going through the books ahead of my test date. It was a great review for the exam and I was very pleased with my score. Be sure to take advantage of the practice tests as well. Overall, I am very happy with this study set! It made MCAT studying much more manageable.

I did not notice many printing errors in these books. Definitely not enough to bother me or question the quality of the publication.I found the textbooks condensed the information I have learned to a satisfying degree, while keeping it detailed enough to familiarize myself with topics about which I had no prior knowledge, such as statistics. However, the online practice questions were incredibly challenging, and my full length practice test score was horrifyingly low. The difficulty really let my spirits down until I looked into the relative difficulty of Kaplan tests to official AAMC practice, Khan Academy, etc. Despite my frustration, I appreciate Kaplan's rigorous material, as it is good to expose yourself to every possible kind of question that could appear on the MCAT.If you're in my position and you are in a pinch as far as studying goes, I recommend jumping into online practice problems and tests and reading about topics that are completely new to you.

So far so good. Started studying with it and find the material very easy to understand. The side notes for helping remember things are also very helpful. Hopefully these help me get the score I want. Great stuff overall, but remember to use other resources as well, like UWorld and AAMC products!!! Bc these definitely won’t be enough for actual practice, better for content review. Dense enough to help you understand and remember concepts you maybe forgot or struggled with. Packaging was great. Love the small quickbook that it comes with for equations and such that you need to know.

For the first time in quite awhile I am actually pretty excited to study, to learn, and test my knowledge. I am pretty rusty on many of the topics in these books, but Kaplan does an excellent job of making explanations extremely clear. While some areas are long, and overly detailed, I'd prefer that over any other resource. Especially the ones that seem to assume you already have physician-level knowledge. Do well on the concept checks and the discrete practice questions and you should have no problem applying yourself when it comes to test time. For the price, you seriously can't go wrong.My books came with no misprints, no easily identifiable spelling errors or damage of any sort. I made sure my purchase was shipped by AND sold by Amazon; not a marketplace seller. I suggest you do the same.
