Raspberry pi is happy
The R pi OS has an option for headless resolution. I tried to use it that way with Teamviewer, but for some reason it became slow. Fooling the Rpi to believe that it has a monitor attached sped the Tviewer response a lot. Way to go for headless if you need to control the Rpi.

Great product, allows to use the computer remotely without a screen, great seller, recommended!
The product connects to the HDMI port as a monitor and you can use the computer remotely without a screen. Works great just like a real monitor.

Great improvement for working from home
These little gems allowed my "headless" mac minis to run at better resolutions than the OS would allow with no monitor connected. These are especially useful on newer Mac OS since Apple continues to take away headless output resolution options. Note you will NOT get 4K resolution if the original video system was not designed to support that resolution. You will most likely get 1080P, which is what I ended up with on my two older Minis, while on a slightly newer Mini I tried these with, we did get 4K output. These are very cost effective compared to some of the other display adapters suggested for improving output resolution in this situation.

It works but is write protected so hdr is locked
Gives you 4k but some costum resolutions not available and your unable to flash it since it's write protected so no HDR either. Good luck if that's why you bought it

It works as intended and price is great
I use this to force high resolution into my Mac Mini when logging into it via screen sharing. Without it The screen resolution by default is poor.

Great solution for Screen Sharing
Great solution for my Screen Sharing (vnc) connection to a Mac mini M1. Without it I can't get the full resolution on my 5K monitor.

I have remote Windows10/Apache servers running on Lenovo laptops that I access remotely using Radmin (excellent product). Ideally, the remote servers operate with no local human interface, sitting on shelves with the screen lid closed. The problem is that Radmin will not work when the screen is closed. Changing settinsg to "do nothing" when the lid is closed does not solve the problem. More drastic registry changes did nothing. But just plugging in the low-cost HDMI Dummy plug into the HDMI port of the remote server instantly solves the problem. The plug tricks the O/S into thinking there is a display attached, even though the display in the closed lid is disabled. And no need for any changes to settings or registry. A perfect product for the job.

Does exactly what it says. I have this plugged into a spare HDMI port on my desktop's RTX 2080 Super GPU so that I can stream games locally to my NVIDIA Shield TV at 1080p/120Hz with my computer monitor turned off, without any problems. Previously I would have to leave my monitor turned on in order to stream to my NVIDIA Shield, otherwise I couldn't change display resolutions.

Works exactly as advertised. I can now use NDI to access the 2nd monitor from the laptop.
