Incredible value
There is an amazing amount of bass from such small speakers. I've waited a few weeks to let them run in before writing this. The reason I bought them is I have a Brennan B3+ that stores and plays my music these days, everything is on it's hard disk, no fuss no bother, I'm getting too old to mess about. It has a decent amplifier and DAC on board. Unfortunately it is not powerful enough to drive my Q Acoustics Connect 40 floor standing speakers. Too much clipping... Now some may call it a blessing, me, well it's more of a curse. Because I have excellent musical hearing. I can hear stuff others cannot. My wife for instance hears just the wall of music, she cannot pick out the individual instruments laid out before her in a 3D landscape. To me there is a world of difference between, let's say Phil Collins hitting a snare drum in it's centre, as opposed to the tap-and-slide of the drumstick near it's edge. Snake-oil I'll bet some of you are saying, and believe me I wish it was. Because for the last 50 years I've been chasing my tail trying to get the best Amplifier/Receiver/DAC and speakers combinations so I can hear it ALL... I've spent a small fortune on equipment, some of it I still have, unused, I cannot bring myself to throw it away. Now to these little Denon speakers. First of all, discard the rubbish bell wire cables they provide. I always make up my own cables with good quality, multi strand OFC speaker wire. Photo shows how theses were made up. Soldered ends because the binding posts on the rear of the speakers are just spring loaded affairs that are cheap and nasty. But with a little tweaking can become useable. I have them mounted on the wall above and behind the Q Acoustics stand mounts. Clamped tightly so there is zero movement or resonance from them. No word of a lie they are as good as the Q's below them, at a fraction of the price. The clarity of the vocals is superb, you can hear the slightest intonation from say, Sam Ryder's voice as he blasts out "Tiny riot", or the fingers sliding up and down the fret board as James Blunt strums on his guitar. That! Bass Riff from Fleetwood Mac's "The Chain". Pick out individual instruments from so many recordings from various artists. I was listening to Ed Sheeran yesterday from the album divide÷ "Shape of you" he is there in my room, sitting in front of the speakers, bang in the middle, the bass drum is at the back along with the keyboard. The backing singers are to the left and right outside the speakers, the soundstage is enormously wide with great depth. All this from such small speakers, it seems impossible but there it is. Would I buy them again? Absolutely, without hesitation. Oh, and back to the snake-oil, there is one small caveat to this. I use Tacoma 6 way mains conditioner plug boards. I bought another one for this little set-up. So I now have 3 of them, for 3 different set-ups. 1 for the 7.4.1 Dolby Atmos cinema setup, 1 in my bedroom for another stereo setup using another B3 with Elac Debut Reference speakers, and this one. For two good reasons, firstly because they protect my valuable equipment, secondly they condition the mains power. What happens is when these are used it's like lifting a heavy curtain from in front of your speakers. Simple as that. Like I said, my hearing is more of a curse, coz that's another £40+ I've just had to spend.

Very smart.
Very smart and well made compact speakers. Match my Denon M41 DAB nicely, remember to activate speaker optimisation in the setup menu if you have the same unit, it enhances the sound still further. Mine took an hour or so to break in and reach their full potential. I had looked at other options but many are only 4 ohm and can put a strain on your amp. At 6 ohms these are perfect. Great value for money. Cables included too!

Incredible Sound
Absolutely amazing speakers for both their size and price. I had originally ordered a pair of Mission speakers to go along with a Denon CD amp I bought. I then found out that there was going to be a a delay on them. So I saw these on Amazon and thought they should be decent pair of speakers being made by Denon, so I took the plunge. Oh my god the sound is absolutely incredible. I’m no way a HI Fi Audiophile but by gum these speakers certainly pack a punch. All this for only £99. Trust me if you are thinking of buying these you will not be disappointed. I don’t normally write reviews but these speakers really do offer a fantastic sound.

Quality well made speakers with excellent sound
Purchased for use with an older Denon RDCM38 receiver. Smart looking and excellent quality. No blue tooth so a little bit dated. I didn't use the supplied cables as they looked a little fragile compared to the ones I was using with some big old speakers. Full, pleasing sound from such compact units.

Excellent sound quality
Really good sounding speakers and a nice compact size. I bought these for a medium size room and for me they provide plenty of sound without any distortion. The vocals are lovely and clear with these and instrumentals are well defined. I'm not a big fan of overpowering bass so for me these provide all the bass I need. Overall I would definitely recommend these as for the price these are as good as anything else at this price point.

V impressed
Paired with a small FX Audio X6 desktop DAC, fed from my dap or iPhone through USB, feeding to a tiny Nobsound NS-15G desktop class D amp. Needed a small/great value but powerful nearfield system which sits next to my recliner. The amp can push up to 100w per channel with an upgraded psu but with the included psu it pushes 50w per channel- perfect for these bookshelves. The sensitivity is good on these speakers too. V sensitive and at 6ohms pair really well with my amp. They also pair well with the DAC x6. These speakers are overall pretty warm to my ear but still with definite sizzle and crispness in the highs. I love silk domed tweeters. Can be a tad bloated in mid bass, i.e. overly warm in the mid bass with significant bleed into the low mids if not paired well, but paired with the x6 and it’s bright/crisp DAC chips it’s a lovely combo. The Nobsound amp tone controls help here in terms of dialling in the eq. Wouldn’t want to use these speakers out of the box without some form of tone/eq control. The mid bass is just a bit too bloated. In terms of volume, I never need to go past 9 o’clock on the vol dial. Dummy loud! Thought these would only do for near field listening BUT they v much surprised me with their power and reach. On stands could def fill a medium size room if needed. Two further surprises - sounded far better near to my wall with bass ports on back blocked. With ports open and away from wall, kick drums and bass were a bit woolly and woofy. Blocked and near wall, kicks drums and bass are thumpy, clean, impactful. Also better without any toe-in. Soundstage far wider, higher and deeper (surprisingly holographic!) when flat on. I LOVE THESE SPEAKERS! Perfect for my requirements and I picked them up renewed and discounted- £45! V happy.

Better known for amplifiers and cd players this Denon product is well designed. An excellent crossover matches the tweeter and woofer to provide a good soundstage which enables music to be listened to pleasurably. Denon.jp has specifics albeit needing translation.

I have mixed feelings about these speakers. They have very neutral and natural mids. The treble is soft and yet dynamic. However the upper bass is quite prominent. Lower bass is very weak, which can be expected of speakers of this small size. In order to boost lower bass, I used an equalizer. However, the upper bass became too prominent, so that the overall sound was rather unbalanced, with the treble getting kind of "masked". Luckily I could compensate this by stuffing the port of each speaker with damping wool. Should be stuffed lightly, not firmly. The sound is excellent now, however only at low volumes. These Denons sound quite boxy when turned up a bit. Therefore I can only give a conditional recommendation. I can imagine that running these speakers in combination with a subwoofer will also give excellent results.

pour de petites enceintes le son est vraiment excellent. Je recommande.
