Loving PetsNature's Choice Rawhide Pressed Bone Dog Chew 12 Inch, 5 Pack

My 88 lb dog loved the first one and lasted a whole day with a few chew sessions. I gave him another the next day and he did not want anything to do with it so I have about 2 of these whole just laying around the house untouched.

I have been searching for durable rawhides that would withstand our 2 hearty chewers and I have finally found them! They have remained intact, have lasted for days and days and have not broken off into small pieces. Additionally, they do not stink like so many others I have purchased. I will be buying these rawhides again. And again.

I love that I can give my strong chewers something they cannot destroy in one sitting. This bone is solid, lasts well over a week, and both my dogs take turns chewing it down. They don't pull off chunks of rawhide because it is so dense but I will throw it away when it gets small enough to swallow - just to be safe.

I know I sound like my grandpa when I say, "in the old days...." But, in the old days, as in 20 years ago, the compressed rawhide chews I bought at the pet store lasted for hours and hours of chewing. Sadly the pet stores do not stock them anymore. I'm not sure why. So I tried these. They have advantages in that they don't stink to high heaven when chewed. Sadly, they do not last very long at all. The layers come apart pretty quickly and I end up throwing away the chunks that come loose because of the choking hazard - which eventually means that I throw most of the bone away. I won't buy again.

I usually purchased 10" pressed bones, but it's become more difficult to find high quality U.S.A 10" pressed bones. But I thought I'd try these to see if my 2yr old golden liked them. Honestly, she likes them better than any of the previous pressed bones I'd bought for her. These also last longer - not only because of the addtl 2" length, but due to the their overall higher quality. Because these are 12" long, I would recommend these for large breed dogs. They're too large for a small or mid-sized dog to chew, to hold while chewing or carry to their favorite spot to enjoy.

They are much less expensive than our local feed store but my aggressive chewers destroyed them in no time. They smell terrible too so had to be consumed outside.

We've bought plenty of pressed bones from the pet stores in the past but these didn't hold up at all to my large breed heavy chewer. They're not really pressed. They have too much air inside, making them a choking hazard. The add says they may be replaced or refunded but I've yet to figure out how to get in contact with anyone.

I love these bones.....so do my dogs (golden doodles, 50lbs) I have my husband cut them in half and one will last for more than a day. I have other chewies for them, but they last for about 20min. These take them a while and really clean their teeth.
