A Grown-Up Lent: When Giving Up Chocolate isn't Enough Paperback – December 11, 2014

I used this book for a daily devotional for Lent. I like that the author uses modern day examples to illustrate a Christian lifestyle. To pay more attention to the world going on around me. I was originally attracted to the title as I was interested in going deeper into faith this season

A fantastic read. I got to know Canon Joanna when she served at Christ Church Cathedral in Cincinnati. This little book is true to the form of her many poignant and elucidating homilies. I can hear her voice on every page. Get it. You won't be disappointed.

The author does a masterful job of showing us new ways to view our childhood habits toward Lent, and offering us more responsible alternatives of Christian piety. We see the world through a different lens, and our duties as Christians in this society become clearer.

This was a nice compliment to other Lenten readings I was doing.

Really enjoyed this thought provoking and wonderfully written daily Lenten devotional. I looked forward to reading it each day and would highly recommend this to anyone seeking to broaden their journey during the Lenten season.
