In my opinion, the product is so thick you wouldn't be able to style your hair with it on. **Q: Is this safe for color treated hair?** A: I use it on my color treated hair (blonde highlights) and it doesn't affect it. This product is awesome. It makes my course curly hair so soft and smooth and I've been using it for years. **Q: does this product contain silicone?** A: Not that I am aware of but don't take my word for It as I may not be correct.
