Aerators Don't Work - FIXED
At first very disappointed..........we purchased two of these that came together in the same order (received today) and neither of the aerators worked. We tried fresh batteries and then using the power adapter that came with the units. Neither worked.UPDATE: I found a You-Tube video by Engel Coolers about aerator maintenance. In that video, it was mentioned what to check for if motor didn't work when powered by batteries. I found the two white gears would not turn at all. One just took a bit of playing using my thumbnail to get the gears to turn and worked fine after that. The second one took more work. I took the assembly apart as shown in the video but also detached the motor giving easier access to the smaller white gear on the motor shaft. I managed to get the shaft to start turning and then put the assembly back together. Now. we have two working aerators that work like a charm.I would give this a five star if it wasn't for the fact they came to us not working.Hope this helps another who might find the same problem.

No More Shrimp Stank in the Car
I’ve had my Engel live bait cooler for a couple of years and absolutely love it. Prior to owning this little gem, I used to use a 5 gallon bucket to transport live shrimp from the bait shop to the kayak launch which spilled on more than one occasion. There are few things more putrid than the smell of shrimp water (and sometimes a fugitive shrimp or two) that has been baking in a black car in the Florida sun. The Engel has pretty much solved this issue. At most a few drops will leak from the aerator hose hole even when tipped on its side. The aerator works very well and the DC power plug is great if you have a socket in a good spot in your car or boat. You can place a frozen water bottle or ziplock bag of ice in the top tray to keep your bait fresh even in the heat of summer. This is kind of pricey for a bait bucket, but the quality is excellent and it will save you from killing bait and keep shrimp juice off of your upholstery, so it is well worth the money.

I added a 2nd bubbler on the side and it works like a champ
took it out for the first time...held 10 doz shrimp all day perfectly....I added a 2nd bubbler on the side and it works like a champ...the key with shrimp is to keep the water temp stable...in hot florida days..they do well..if you need to cool the water a bit...you can add a small bottle of ice....also, I add a piece of chum bag to the bottom of the cooler to allow the warriors to hold on to something when the boat is moving....I used to use a similar size cooler, but, this has a nice handle and the bottle feet hold the cooler from moving...as well, if ti falls over in the boat, it's 100% sealed....great product..I'm buying the 13 qt for having some shrimp at the front of the boat ....yeah, you can use a simple bucket..but, on hot days, the water gets warm and the shimp tend to die...what ever floats your boat...but, when I've driven 2 hours over to the west coast to fish, spent $100 on gas and bait, ice, etc...a little security to keep my bait alive is worth the few extra $$$$DC

Engel vs Yeti - the Yeti is no Match!
Best Live Well on the market!!! In August, I transported 150 (3”) Goldfish to our fishing destination, while my 3 buddies laughed at me. Bait came on Tuesday, we started driving Wednesday, flew in on Thursday and I used the last one the next Wednesday. Yes, I had to replace the batteries every other day along with the water and always keep them in the shade. My “friends” laughed until the first bait hit the water - 2 seconds later I had a 6.5lb Smallmouth on the way in and cash offers from my friends. They got worms. In 10 days I caught over 150 smallies and 40 Northern Pike. Largest Pike was only 24lbs, but a blast to catch. Now my friends borrow both the large and medium Engel coolers I have and the 50+ quart cooler is used for a freezer for 5 days as it holds ice twice as long as my Yeti.

I really like this bait cooler for kayaking
I really like this bait cooler for kayaking. It keeps the bait alive all day. My reason for 2 stars is after one use the pump only works plugged in and will no longer work with batteries. I stored it dry and without batteries. And yet the very next time the pump would not turn on with batteries. Unfortunately the pump only has a 30 day warranty and it had been more than 30 days.

This unit works great!! A definite must for fishermen nowadays
This unit works great!! A definite must for fishermen nowadays. Easily kept 3 dozen minnows alive for days. Can be used for hard water and open water usages. I put the cooler right on the ice. My only recommendation is to buy a cheep fish tank pump (120v) to use when not on the water so you conserve battery life.
