Yum!!
Sorry, but Texans CAN go on and on about food, but TACOS? They are a gift to us from God Herself. All I've done while reading is drool.. I had forgotten in this California almost Paradise old habits of solid good breakfast that encompasses of just what is good for you,but what is good! Tacos are just flat out good, and if you never make it to Austin, or even,God forbid, don't make it to Texas, this book is a gift that will keep on giving you that experience, what some of us, believe is the loving essence of home: good friends, good eats and lots of laughter. I never dreamed this little book would offer that much, but it does, and more. Try it, you'll never settle for Taco Bell again, I promise.

Lots of info on a small space
Outstanding, informational cross section of the (breakfast) taco scene in Austin. From brick and mortar joints to trucks and street carts, with lots of recipes. Lots of knowledge and ideas in a quick read.

More than just a recipe book
This book was everything I expected and more. I expected recipes from the people making Austin's best breakfast tacos. And those are in here - everything from the tiny food trucks to the big restaurants. What I didn't expect but was thrilled to discover was that they also included the stories behind all those places. The stories describing how they started making and selling breakfast tacos in Austin are what makes this book much more than just a cook book with beautiful pictures. This is a great history of Central Texas as told through the people making and eating breakfast tacos.

A complete mess
I agree with other reviewers. Whatever the authors were trying to do, doesn’t work. Maybe it’s their original notes and they never finished it. There is no listing of recipes or even an index. They are not even sorted by type of filling or any structure that you could use to find anything. The format is a brief interview of people, we mostly don’t know and have no reason to care about, followed sometimes by a recipe and sometimes not. Each recipe is buried within the interview. Both the content and the format is a confusing mess.

Great recipes and history of Austin, TX. Very good information and breakfast taco ideas.Enjoyed the book. I haven't made every recipe, but the ones I have, have been wonderful.I've made my own flour and corn tortillas too. And you can't get a better tortilla than a homemade one.Try it, it's fun!

Well, the cover is nice
This is an okay book if you are really into the subject of breakfast tacos. The recipes are pretty basic and not very detailed. Not all that interesting, frankly.

A disappointment
Not sure what the authors were trying to accomplish here, but whatever it was, it wasn't working.
